I've been looking for a comic book artist for some time now because I wish to start a series but I'm not too gifted in the drawing department.

If anyone is one or knows of one, please tell them about this thread or have them PM me.

    Thanks

    thanks a bunch

If they are commissions though I might not be able to afford it. I'm looking for more of a partner, but it might be difficult working with someone I don't know, so we'll see.

Is this a paid position or not?

No, it would be more of a partner type deal.

Okay, I don't think she'll have time for it ;) (she's my sister). Good luck anyways.

Drawing a comic book for no pay (or a webcomic) is a lot of work for an artist. I'd recommend maybe hitting up some forums with a topic similar to what you want to make the comic about. Maybe you'll find an artist willing to help out there.

    Well,

My plan is to make a comic book out of a book that I've written, but I don't have the start up funds to do it just quite yet. I may have to find someone around my University to help, internet may be a bit too difficult.

I know how hard it is to make a professional picture or painting, so I might be searching for a while.

If you were a large agency, then artists would do it for free (for their resume)... other than that people don't tend to work for free eh ;)

What if you sell the comic and reproduce it, they would have to get a huge chunk of the profits from royalties...

I probably could attract someone if I had a large distributor base, which I do in a way. I could get out copies of the Comic to about 2000 people or so. Perhaps that would sway them. And if the comic did bring in revenue (if only for adspace in the comic) then they probably would receive a royalty.

Check out Digital Webbing, there is a section on there for artists looking to do comic book work.
