one word domain.

So I'm purchasing a one word domain that ties in very nicely to my main site that I currently own.

I think that overtime this new one word domain will bring me more traffic to my site than the current domain, so how do I work in the new domain along with the older one to maximize my traffic? Thanks.

 

Add it as domain alias tou your web site, then draw a migration plan. Hope you don;t provide RSS feed. If "yes" you will have a lot of work to do.

 

one word domains is only one criteria for the serp. you must apply complete seo to your site

 

would redirecting the new domain to my old site and link building using the one word domain help?

 

I would go with 301 redirects on everything, page by page, in order to ensure that the Google (and others) rankings are preserved.
Otherwise you are like starting from scratch once again.

 

And give it TIME. Dont expect all the pr to pass thru overnite...
