Why was a cop shooting at a snake in a tree? The article made it sound like the snake wasn't even doing anything wrong, so why not leave it alone? I guess some cops have too much free time on their hands.
that is not an accident m8 , that is neglect and total stupidity on the officers part, he should be charged for it. do you think that if it was you shooting some cans in your backyard and you killed a child with a stray bullet , it would be called an accident , i dont think so, the cops would try to charge you in every possible way
Few things I need you to do for me.... 1) Try going to www.dictionary.com and looking up words before you use them because it seems you're obviously just throwing around words without having more than a vague understanding of their meaning. 2) After you've read and grasped the meaning of neglect, and stupidity come here and use it in a sentence to demonstrate that you truly understand it. 3) Show me where the officer was negligent. 4) Now go look up accident.

A little update on this as the 5 year old boy was my nephew.... Jack Tracy in this story is my dad. Basically the cops have declined an agreement to a felony charge of Second degree manslaughter and 90 days in jail. I'm not sure where it is going from here, but things are slowly getting better for the family. It has been a pretty rough holiday season though. It really is hard to say what should be the punishment, but I think most everyone agrees that for all actions such as this there should be consequences if for no other reason than showing other police officers that this should not happen. Whether it should be a felony charge though is debatable.
