For that much, u could of submitted your site in alot of directories which could give u traffic. My directory makes a banner at our own cost and rotates it on the homepage for your entire term.
How did you track the conversions? I am sorry for the interrogatory, but I don't really have any experience with audio ads and am extremely interested to hear about people who do.
Month before I did this audio ad, I bought 500 dollars worth of directory submissions. It was just something new I wanted to try. Thought it may give good results who knows. Plan was I would be spending only the amount to make the ad. Now it looks like I spent 165 for making the ad+409.07 for running the ad for a month. By the way this was the ad running on radios http://www.webcosmo.com/web.mp3
that's not too bad for under $600 .. did it get you any traffic at all? How many times and where did it play? and, who produced it and how did you find them?
You cant track traffic from audio ads. But you can make a guess from the number of direct traffic. Its hard for me to tell since I do promote the site with lot other things at the same time eg. articles, links etc. From the numbers I think it wasn't worthy. Ad played 349 times over one month period totalling 202,091 impressions(i think impression counts as thousand, if I am not wrong). Michael Corley made the ad. He is a professional radio voice announcer. You can find them through audio ad marketplace.
