New phpLD Category Generator

Hi Everyone,

I'm releasing a free tool today for phpLD users. This tool generates a category tree structure into SQL so that you can use to dump into your new phpLD setup. This tool is intended for new directories looking for an easier way to build a unique category tree.

Please view the more info link if you have trouble. The Insert and Append buttons will work only if theres a category name typed in the text box. I have tested this for versions phpLD 2 and 3, however, be cautious when using this. Always make a backup of your phpLD database before using the generated SQL from this tool. Again, this is intended for new startup directories.

For phpLD users using 3.x, you can also generate random Meta Descriptions for each category.

How does it handle more than 1 word categories?

Brilliant! This is absolutely a handy tool for directories.

I always hated using category dump, always modifying categories later on.

This lets me build in the way I like!

 

After i built a dump, i could find the URL as Chats_and_Forums for chat and forums

Hi rital, recep---to use the tool, use the buttons (click more info for a little more explanation) and create your tree structure. You can remove the ones you don't like or remove the ones you want changed and append a new name for the category. After that you can import via phpMyadmin (from your cPanel). I know right, I wish this was a year ago. But hopefully those willing to start-up new niche or general directories can still benefit from it.
