Hi, Can anyone tell me which is the best script for directory. I have tried PhpLink Directory, I like all the features except i couldn't find any options to add new footer or header nor a logo to it. Thanks
@dcristo Thanks for that info but i need something built-in kinda thing if i can get it would be easy to edit/change when ever i want unlike everytime editing the files and uploading.. Any idea of such scripts
No dude. Every script requires you to edit templates to fit your requirements and site appearance. The biz directory script is pretty much usable and ready to use off the shelf. It just depends on how much you want to customize the look.
It is very widely used though so if you had an issue you could post it here. Many of us use that script.
thanks guys I just looked at the script provider's site and i guess it suits my requirements (simple and neat) Tho yet to check the features/options that i can use to suit my web
My host is running php in CGI mode. And this will cause Php Link Directory to have problems. Any other good links directory scripts you recommend? (Prefer free ones, of course)
Hi.. do you happen to know what that means. Our server is running in php-cgi mode and it only seems to cause problems. Is there a reason to run in php-cgi mode? Also this directory software looks pretty good, haven't really used it but might be alright.... http://www.onlinemarketingtoday.com/software/link-management/
@rederick For me it looks more of a reciprocal link exchanger rather than directory script because i do not see a field for keywords (in add url form) May be i am wrong but this is what i found.
i came here looking for the best directory scripts, well not the best but ones that would work for me and for free. i know a good one but it costs a lot. one is links sql by gossamer threads. i would really appreciate any suggestions still! thanks.
cpDynaLinks has been great! it uses mod-rewrite to dynamically generate the directory folder structure. You can see my site where it is installed here http://www.dating-sites-list.com The cons are that is only holds two levels of folders, and you cannot post on the first level, also the add_url form can only be accessed by browsing to the appropriate folder. I would like to see a single add_url form for the entire site. ------------- Another free script that looks interesting is the aewebdirectory free directory script. http://www.aewebworks.com/download/forum/ Although it requires an build to compile the source files into a binary. So you need root access to install it. This does not work with shared hosting environment. -------------- DirectMatches.com – The only place where you get paid to meet people! http://directmatches.com/webpapi

This coming week we will be lauching Site Sift Listings. (free directory script) You can find some information here: http://forum.site-sift.com/thread323.html I think Site Sift listings has many of the features you are looking for.
I recently started using linkmetro as a free link exchange service, and I discovered that they have a very high quality link script that is installed when you sign up for the advanced ling automation service. Here is a page on a site that uses the linkmetro directory script: www tableforsix com/links/ (you need to add the dots . . .) The service automates everything anf it is a snap to use. I highly reccomend it: You can sign up for a free linkmetra account here: www linkmetro com (you need to add the dots . . .)
May I please ask which script is that? Where do I see it and/or get it? What is the exact name? Thanks!
