Question about link building

Hmmmm. I'm a tad new to this. Can you answer these questions for me?

If my link is in my signature, will each reply or thread I post count as a different link?

If my anchor text is Kimbo Slice Videos, will people searching for kimbo or kimbo slice see my site?

Each indexed reply will count as a different link from the same domain. Good, but not as good as links from different domains. Yes, when you get enough links you should see yourself climbing up SERPs for "Kimbo Slice Videos".

 

And what about "kimbo slice" and "kimbo"?
Will I get higher placement for those terms too?
and does capitalization matter?

 

Yes you will... But it will take time and links. For competitive keywords you will need thousands and thousands of links. There are other factors that determine how well you do in search engines. Even though backlinks are extremely important you should also optimise your website for the keywords you are targeting. Just read the SEO section here on DP.

yes each link will count, but as for search engines no. Forum sigs have no value what so ever. I know it can be quite confusing.

 

They were proven to have little value. I would not go as far as saying no value what so ever.

 

Let me rephrase that sites wides don't carry as much value as what people think.

 

if the thread that you have posted is indexed by search engines, every link in your signature will be counted as backlink
