Don't we have right to warn people in sales threads?

I've warned possible buyers in that thread that what they are going to buy is a spam script which brings only Turkish traffic (which results in 90% ban in AdSense). After a few minutes, my post got deleted plus I got an infraction point. I really do not care about the infraction but hey, don't we have right to warn people about what they are bound to buy when the seller is mispresenting the product he is trying to sell?

It's a tricky one. There is no problem with starting a general thread discussing the matter. A simple warning or would do but a serious of posts would be considered problematic.

Ultimately it's up to the buyer to do their due diligence and to understand what they are buying.

At all times stay professional and don't engage in personal insults... including comments about age (directed at you in this instance, I believe).

I did not engage indeed, he was the one who turned it into personal.

By the way I meant 'right' not 'write' :)

You can always let the seller know that you don't approve of what they are selling with a red rep.

Seller already knows what he is doing. Red rep is nothing when in the other hand the buyers are losing money on something worthless.

I have actually thought about that but in that case, some of users might actually report me for such a thing (might take that like spamming or thread bashing for no reason). At least there is a possibility.

Yes Leet you are right, but if a seller gets enough red reps for doing what he is doing he might just quit selling it and offer something legitimate for a change.

correct me if i am mistaken here, but does DP not risk being banned by google and adsense for allowing this to be sold? and everyone thats in the DP revenue share, who's adsense ID is listed, will also be in risk of having their accounts with adsense banned for association?

i think Leet is right, for once we can agree on something. this blackhat to rip off google and adsense at the risk of being banned should not be on this forum. i thought DP had some lows, but stooping to allowing blackhat crap and fraud is an all time low if DP allows this.

i wonder who'll tip off Matt Cutts?

[edit] removes my adsense code from DP i want no part of that

Nice comment leet. I agree with you 100%. I some times warn in the sales thread, but I do it in a way that can not be infractioned. If I see an obvious scam or bad deal I am asking difficult, but genuine questions to the seller and follow up questions and so on until nobody buys the stuff.

Could you report the thread? I wonder if the mods would do anything about it.

There has to be a better way of stopping people from cleary selling illegal stuff here.

It's not only bad for DP, but also for honest members.

actually, this is really a problem, am enough experimented to recognize almost any possible scam, but i really cant post because its against the rules to write a negative comment when you are not interested in a service or product.

the problem is, without those negative comments or scam alerts many noobs may get scammed.. and often after many complaints from scammed members the OP get banned.. but.. its too late.

but i might can turn to be that he quited selling one bad thing but offer another bad script instead right? I think what leet did is a right thing to warn other people about some bad points of the products or service. other people might think he would like to discresit the seller though. anyway all still up to mods to decide, right?

    buyers ouughta be careful..

and i think warning others in their threads could be revolting to sellers :)..unless ofcourse he/she has scammed you before..i d say its best left alone ;-)

The guy says in his first post you may get banned,
The buyers know the risk, what is he misrepresenting?

It's really bad in the webhosting forum for scams and I've posted in a few pretty obvious ones to warn users and got hit with negative rep points by the thread starter. People saying their hosting is in India or something and it turns out it's in Texas and they're claiming immunity to US laws and such. I've decided to just keep my mouth shut and watch people get scammed which I think is pretty bad.
