I was told by one guy whose story has been listed by google as a success story that if I Have to do well with adsense, I have to make a website where the people generate the content.
I admire graduates.com and the adsense implementation.
I just learned about drupal and think its a good cms.
well, do you think i can use it on such a website people?
or what other open source cmc do you propose?

if you want user generated content then drupal is the way to go

it will take a while to get used to but go ahead and learn Views and CCK and just keep plugging along

I am curious as to why you say this.

Drupal is indexed better by google out of the box. It allows users to add content without need for manually publishing the material.

It has a flexible category system

Joomla on the other hand takes a lot of work to become SEO friendly and requires admin the manually publish all content.

If you require to have custom ACLs for the site, ie maybe restrict users to various pages by what membership they have (can be quite a useful thing to do), Joomla is the last thing to use. The only permission based ACL system they have is based on a hack on the core files which is unacceptable on many levels, especially any future upgrades.

Drupal, is already used by many insititutions for their alumni, college based websites. It would be recommended from my end at least. It is quite mature and can be made to do anything you want - simply have a look at the showcases at their website (look esp for the institution based ones).

Drupal is my pick. I don't have experience with Joomla but it has served my purposes quite well.

Before start tinkering with Drupal, I would highly recommend you to spend some time on their forums to learn more. :)

    All the best.
