I recently started a new blog, and it's got 40 people looking at it after 12 hours, there's been a few people promoting it, and I want to know if it's good or not. So, how many visitors did your blog recieve at the beginning?
for friday my traffic usually settles and increases again on monday and I get my regular flow of traffic - still always looking for increases
40 is a pretty good number. Did you have another site feeding traffic to it? All of the blogs I've started got traffic because of forum sigs or people I told. That's it though.
first day isn't really much of an indicator of anything, other than how many people you told about the site or how many links you planted. Focus on steady growth and solid content. I had less than 50 or so my first day if I remember right (it was last October), but by the beginning of the 2nd week I was listed on fark and received 3,000 in a day. Over time the #s kept going up, peaking at around 10,000-15,000/day in March (I don't know the #s after that point as I sold the site).
Kinda. Basically it's the Get Your Blog Reviewed link in the footer. I mentioned it on my established blog, and as well as sent an email to a few of my main readers, a few posted about it and I got a few links from it. The second day it shot up to 150 odd, and I think is levelling out. Main thing now is to build it over a longer period of time.
