Hey I was just wondering is article submission worth the effort? Also what can you expect to gain from it? My blog is filled with articles and im wondering if i should submit them to article directories.
IMO... Article submission is not so effective anymore. Also, it is not advisable to submit the articles on your site. This is because they will be deemed as duplicated contents by SE and thus will be given low importance.
Article and directory submision is boring I paid someone here on DP last time and haven't noticed any major impact I don't know if they even did it
How and why I do article submissions: You have to understand that doing so is a part of a bigger process. When I submit an article, it is to build a back link to a landing page, that captures their email information in return for offering something related to the topic the article is about. I continue on there to market accordingly to what niche they signed up to. That is where the money is made, it isn't enough to just submit tons of articles, you have to have a flow or plan of action once the traffic comes from those articles. Take it as a huge net that funnels back to where you make sells to them. The articles are part of that net. Other parts of that net, include your SEO, forum posting, safelist and traffic exchange advertising, banners, text links, PPC. All forms of driving traffic to a targeted page that turns a visitor into a subscriber, and then turns that subscriber into a paying customer.
I've never been real hot on article submission, I've done it a few times (well, I hired someone to do it) but I haven't been all that impressed. I'd rather concentrate on other efforts.
Good point about "rather concentrate on other efforts..... But using all the available Pillars of marketing has always supported Success. Also what I have observed here on the Internet Thing is most do so Little.. Try a few times... First place I never TRY anything.... TRY is a negative word from the Get-Go Masive Action is Largest KEY on my ring for continued, Guaranteed Success. When we Direct Mail, it is in the Thousands... When we Traffic Exchange it with lots of credits.... When I write Articles, it is constant..... Actually Article Writing is the FERTILE SOIL to plant your Copywriting Skills One of my Friends for years is a Surgeon... He is forced to perform X number of Surgeries to cover his overhead and leave something on the Table. But he is limited by the hours of the Day. We, involved in marketing, have NO restriction on "hours" worked... we Duplicate 24/7 Success in marketing is what allow us to enjoy a much more relaxed Lifestyle than my friend the Surgeon..in fact it was the realization of the ineveitable is why I didn't pursue Medicine.... And he is now doing a bit of "marketing" Who wants to be Limited in ANY Way???
Article submissions are good. Only submit the articles if they are your own. If they are not, then don't submit them to article banks. Also, what I do is write articles for my site and then just use them on my site and that's it. If I want to actually do article marketing, then I will write articles that are just for the article banks and will never include that article on my site once it has been submitted to other article sites on the web.
I am a directory submitter in DP and it seems that directory submission is still good. Its effective even now.I have noticed that after the submission there is a good change seen in SERP of some sites. Article Submission is also good.It can help u to get very good traffic. But the main thing is that ; If your site is not having quality everything including SEO will be a great waste. Thankz
I find article submissions are a very effective tool. It takes a commitment. One article won't do too much.. 30 to 50 articles... massive. Of course, the article needs the proper resource box and anchor text. Plus, high quality articles will increase the chance of them being picked up.
Article submission has been my prime form of advertising for as long as I've been in internet marketing. It's true that submitting the exact same articles to different directories will get you slapped for duplicate content. The solution is to change your articles up a bit so you have a unique copy for every directory. You can do this yourself or use a service. Also times have changed. These days I don't submit my articles to hundreds upon hundreds of directories. Rather I submit unique copies to around 20ish major directories. Also I submit my articles to social marketing services like Netscape.
As far as I can say, submitting articles to high authority directories can earn your site a Trusted Vote. When a high authority article directory will be pointing back to a site - the search engine's understanding of your website would be "non-spam" nature. This is extremely important as PR is obsolete in SERP terms now. However, submitting to 100s of article directories is not recommended and I personally don't recommend submitting duplicate articles in a number of directories. I feel from experience that a backlink from these sites will heavily alter the TrustLevel and can be the key to survival in the initial stages of an infant website. What a wealth of information. I am hot to go back to more Article submission. In above post I stressed Massive Action. This old man fell down in the Article department the past few months. What a great very early morning diversion...
I still get great SEO results from submitting articles to the directories, but I don't submit them by hand. I prefer to use Article Marketer services because they submit for me no matter how many articles I upload, and they also moderate so your articles have to be good BEFORE they go out. Well worth the price for me, since it has helped me dominate my niche.
Yes, article marketing still works as long as you are targeting your backlinks at the end of the articles - you will get raises in SERPS this way. It is also perfect for targeting those wonderful "buying" keywords if you are into affiliate marketing.
If you want to build up your reputation, trust and credibility as well as traffic and sales you need to do some form of article submission, preferably your own articles submitted to the article sites and not posted on your site to avoid the duplicate content charge that would be levied against you by the search engines. It might take a while, depending on the quality of the article and its topic, but in the end its free and it still does work.
Short answer....yes article directories will always be relevant to any SEO campaign. 1. They build backlinks, credibility, and quality traffic for new to moderately new sites. 2. Only use some of the top quality article directories for your submissions. Don't waste your time with all the other junk directories. Ezinearticles, ISnare, Bestzines, Goarticles are just a few that I use. 3. If you do like to submit to alot of article directories....make sure you have a web stat analytics tool like "Google Analytics" to monitor which one brings you in the most traffic. Then just use those directories in the future. 4. Most importantly: Dont use the same articles you submit on your sites. Submit to one or the other. If its a great article, put it on your site. If its descent or a rewritten article, submit it to your article directories. Once your site is ranking very well within Google and Yahoo.....submit ALL your articles to your site ONLY.
