Teach me about Islam.

I have studied many religions of the world including a bit Islam. However, my knowledge of Islam is somewhat lacking to say the least.

If you are Muslim, what would you like to teach me about Islam? I'm not looking to be converted, I'm comfortable with my spiritual beliefs, but I would be interested in hearing about Islam from those who practice it.

 

I would google shaykh kabbani. I actually found him when I was trying to figure out what religion worldradio is, because he seems like such a peaceful person.

I don't know why GTech is against Islam so much? Suicide bombing, killing innocent people and stuff like that is not allowed in Islam. Infact islam is against such kind of acts and people who commit those are just ignorant.

Above verse of Holy Quran clearly states that this is not allowed.

From what I've guessed the above post was the creation of a sick mind without any valid point. It was just usual BS that's in your brain washed heads and you post them without even knowing what you are going to say.

And a TV Channel "Peace TV" would help you understanding Islam as well. Becasue the participants usually use Bible and other books as reference to answer the questions of Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs etc.

I'm not particularly fond of religions that call for my death. I'm not particularly fond of those who try to deceive.

Of course, we are both aware that Sura 9 abrogates this. And we both know why, don't we? Shall we discuss the order in which the Suras were "revealed" (invented) and the varying times (beginning, during war, the end) mohammad made up the varying Surahs?

I suppose we could discuss the "hour of resurrection" from the hadith, which describes the end of times and what/who muslims will kill, in order to get to heaven?

That's a new edit to that verse. I didn't realize those were just two suggested reasons that justify murder. "Corruption on earth" is vague enough but wow, that's just TWO of the possible justifications.

I wonder what other crazy justifications Muslims can go with when they murder someone...

We must live in a crazy country that spells out exactly what justifies the death penalty. Real civilized countries such as those ruled by Islam realize that it is far more just to simply give a general idea of what crimes would warrant your death.

To the thread starter: Its unfortunate that one lousy thread asking for info on Islam has degenerated into this. btw, go directly to the ource if you have time, and read the quran, or english translations of it. Be aware that translations can't be exact and that verses can be interpreted differently.

The quran is meant not to be a law book. We have Shariah for that

Also, while your comparing holy books to laws, compare the Bible to laws. Even more vague. The Bible was designed for anecdotes, which I believe are mostly untrue, and you take for true.
I don't understand why you guys have to be extremely negative. We don't hate on Christianity in this forum, or Judaism. We merely defend our position. Yet, you guys are on the offensive and everyone's noticed your weak arguments.
