Due to popular request i have written a short simple tutorial on how to add a thumbnail image of each website to your phpLB bidding directory. it seems a lot of bidding directories want to show the images, and there is a lack of tutorial on the internet about how to add the images properly. You can also generate thumbnails using snap.com, that's what I'm using on design creme. You need to register at snap to get a custom key in order to make it work on your site. Anyway, thanks mike!

I implemented the same technique when I had a PHPLB when it first came out. Never thought about making a tutorial. Good idea!
What happens when Girafa decides to crack down on those using the MSN thumbnails? Someone has to be paying for them in the end and MSN may not be too happy about the freeloaders. In case you did not know, Girafa tracks all thumbnail requests, including number from requests/site. I see no reason not to use their free offer of 2000 image requests a day. That should be more than enough for most directories.
ive removed thumbs from my dir coz sometimes they really slow down the site imo .. maybe there would a solution in caching thumbs and refreshing every 7 days or so .. just like the link popularity mods.
