    There are many different people offering different proxy advertising services from email newsletters, to myspace bulletins or plain text links. What has worked for you, what hasn't?

    I do all my proxy site promotion myself.The methods worked for me :

    Mail Listing
    Topsite Submission
    Link Exchange (From non-proxy ; IT related sites.eg : ebook site; warez site)
    Forum Posting (Signature)

    Mostly target Gulf countries.They have many restrictions in net usage.

    Pretty similar to priyakichin. I find word of mouth to be very big as well, especially for students.
