The world is single but the religion and people are different from one to another and that is what making crime in this world. You know what? We say religion is a god and our religion is good. But now after seeing this pic i am feeling like religion is not god but its the main reason for this crime. I will never understand how people can kill others in the name of "God". It seems counter intuitive to me. Unfortunately, there are many people that believe their religion is the only way and they scorn those and sometimes in extreme cases would kill others that don't subscribe to their religion.
I think one of the problems is that a religious faith can breed intolerance: after all, you KNOW you're right. You can then use this to justify all sorts of actions. A poster on this very forum said that Israel belonged to the Jews 'because God said so." (I'm paraphrasing a bit). There is no way you can debate an alternative view point with someone like that and violence very quickly becomes the favourite option.
You have used the best word to describe the problem; "intolerance". The oppositte of that in my opinion is "acceptance". When intolerance is the mode of action instead of acceptance, how can the result be peaceful?
The problem boils down to what religion used to be and what it is now. Religion used to be all about worshipping God. Now the ego over many generations has twisted what religion is so it's now about 'my God is better than your God'. There is only one God IMHO but how you get there is open to interpretation. Man has made his own version from the one original source. One thing for sure is that God would never say to kill another human or animal in the name of worship or for fun.
But any way,in the religion its controlled by the Priests and the religious leaders.I have a doubt that is there any role for the God in few cases!But I am sure that we need a religion for our peace of mind and our existences.
Some may need a religion for their peace of mind; others may find their own spirituality from within.
I am a bit confused.. How that picture is related to religion?? That is one funny picture but what does it say about religion being no god? Of-course I do not think that religion is God.. IMHO, we (as human being) created religion and god as the first step in building community. In early times we needed something to make people believe is a single goal, and make them follow a single path. We had countless questions but no or very little answers, So we created God as the answer of all questions.. So IMO human created God, God didn't create human (or anything else)
It has been said that man created God in his own image not the other way around. I tend to agree with that statement when I look at many of the religions that exist in the world today.
i cant relate that pic to religion. anyways i think we fight because most of the time, people wants to feel superior, like their religion is perfect, their religion is better than yours because of (provide proof) then argue about it then the other persons attack and wants to feel superior as well and no wants to humble himself.. and so it goes... sigh

god choose only one religion for each and everyone but renaining religions are self made by man. and also god give everyone free hand in this life,because god will give deeds of every man in our next life. and the next life is never ended.

You have a soul, so to some extent, limited choice.. So there is a Judgement factor going on.. The thing is, one never knows at what instant he or she is being Judged and how much he or she may be guided mostly.. Our job is to score 90's on the test.. Actually, I have nothing to explain about but what i can predict is all this mad things is happening because of 9/11. They says that they are fighting against terrorism but you can easily think about those poor people who died in the war. poor people are more in number that have been killed in the was than the number of terrorist and us army. What i say is, let people leave free to live. here in my country, though its poor country but we are living free. we accept all the religion, even Muslim are my neighbors and even i do create a friendship with the Christians. people loves to visit here. people who comes here feels like they are at their own home. they dont want to go back. i am not spreading goodness about my country, infact i am trying to tell that, its because we think every religion is equal. Respect gives Respect.
