For all of you who have your head in the sand and thing WinXP is better:

WHY VISTA IS THE BEST DESKTOP OS:
-Installs through an image (I've installed it over 5 times now, and it's really fast)
    -Non-destructive disk partitioning!!!
-DirectX 10 (which benchmarks show gives better 3D performance)
    -Aero is cool as hell
-TONS of little things are greatly improved (i.e. the start menu)
-Security is excellent (for all you non-Windows fans read this)

QUIT WHINING ABOUT IT BEING SLOW AND GO GET A BETTER PC (or upgrade)!

Vista is crap no matter how you twist it. You can run Windows on a great processor and 4gb of ram and it would still get viruses and have the security flaws Windows is famous for. In my opinion...

    OS X >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>XP>>>>Vista.

    End of story.

hahahaha :D thanks for that you had me laughing my ass off.

Symantec says that Microsoft is fixing more in their OS? Well let's hope so.. they have a long way to go to catch up! That doesn't mean it's secure you mindless dolt. You know why Apple doesn't release as many fixes for bugs as Microsoft? CAUSE THERE'S NOTHING TO FIX! Apple makes a solid OS and is problem-free. WOW.

Oh and find me someone who's running OS X and is "upset because it has more flaws than Vista"

lol, you didn't read the article and you still don't get it, also Symantec, which the article points out it no-friend of MS, says it's the most secure. So you think the techs behind Norton are mindless?

"The report found that Microsoft (Quote) Windows had the fewest number of patches and the shortest average patch development time of the five operating systems it monitored in the last six months of 2006."

Also, according to PC Mag (which covers Apple products), OSX has had more security flaws in every year windows xp has been out except one (I'm looking up the article)

Vista is anything but secure. You wanna talk secure? How about 0 viruses? And no you f***** it's not that Mac is only used by 10% of the world, it's the fact that Apple makes a powerful, streamlined OS. Something Microsoft has failed to achieve.. you shouldn't have to have 2gb of ram to run an operating system decently. The only people who love vista are the idiots who have never tried Mac or linux. Or, they're just dumb. I have a Macbook, 2ghz intel core 2 duo 2gb ram 120gb hd w/ superdrive (& isight). This machine is so fast, I can't believe I used Windows for 5 years..

So why don't we all just use Windows 98 (instead of newer version of Windows)? It's fast as hell.

On a side note, my system dual-boots Ubuntu and Vista.

I'm tri-booting Ubuntu Linux, Windows XP Pro SP2, and Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.10 right now. With the touch of a key (or I can smack it alternatively) I can switch between my desktops. If i wanted to use Vista I could, but why would I waste my hard drive?

I agree with you, nosense in putting on Vista if your main OS is OSX and you have windowsxp so you can run windows programs. For a windows guy like me however, where I use Windows as my workstation, Vista becomes very useful over XP.

Vista takes up too many resources as far as I'm concerned... Say what you want about it but its a hog.

And their EULA is too intruding. It gives Microsoft the right to remove software from your PC that it feels was obtained illigaly. My issue is, what gives microsoft the right to scan my PC at will (local scan) and remove software they it doesnt own?

Whatever works for you. I installed Vista 64 bit Ultimate on brand new top of the line hardware and it's flying. No problems with drivers or performance. Old software works fine, even oldies like Eudora and Forte Agent.

Vista is a bluff. It is just resource hog. I would prefer to use linux even it is harder to use rather than vista. After all, vista has features derived from the unix family.
