First Month

    Just finished my first month of owning a web directory. I got 1225 unique hits in July and I have not yet paid for any advertising. I was wonder what other peoples web directory traffice stats were?

    is your site a free directory? they gain traffic easier.

    That's not a bad stat for a first directory ;)

    Once your site gains PR, I think you can expect more visitors. (finger crossed)

    I have used my other directories and several advertising methods, and I generated 3493 unique hits last month for my free directory (PR0).

    Do you chaps distinguish between

    hits
    visits
    page views
    unique visitors ?
    spiders/robots/humans

    They are all entirely different things, I am a bit particular about this because it has a serious impact on the usefulness of the traffic

    even my directory got decent traffic from the first month, but then most of that traffic was from the serps. It is all about the keywords that you target!:)

    another of my web directory is getting 1200+ uniques daily, because it is on my social networking website, friends cyber club. and that is also new:)

    good performance, even for a new directory. maybe i should launch my own web directories too.
