I have a laptop. the problem it's that it have "high audio definition" or something like that for the audio driver. to install the drivers i need to install 2 fixes from microsoft (or however they call them). And after that to install the driver for RealTeak High Audio Definition.

The problem is that after i install the driver Windows it's shut down in no less then 15 minutes every time! I have AMD TURION 64 at 2200 and 1 GB of DDRAM2

Are you sure you didn't get that low speed before installing this driver ?

if so, then try system restore (if it's enabled) and restore your system to the latest point before installing the driver ;)

    15 minutes??
This may not be related to the driver issue. check your registry, and see if you've enabled "clear pagefile at shutdown"???

    [Start] [Run] [Regedit]
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management

REG_DWORD [Dword Value] // Value Name: ClearPageFileAtShutdown
Setting for Value Data: [0 = Clear Page File Disabled / 1 = Clear Page File Enabled]
    Code (markup):
The set value should be 0. If it's 1, then that is your problem.

Check this, and reply back here.

remove the spyware and trojans. That is why I find the most on others computers that have caused the problems of slow shutdown. They are still accessing the internet and downloading or sending data.

Last week my LT would not shut down/restart @ all! ---> woo hoo windows!! and like with 77% of wins issues I have no idea what I did to fix it

ditch the driver and see if that fixes the SD time and then go from there...
