Taliban Claim to Kill 2nd Korean Hostage, I am so sad about that http://www.guardian.co.uk/worldlatest/story/0,,-6815858,00.html
So, I guess the Taliban now believe they can kidnap people and make demands because it has worked before... "In March, President Hamid Karzai approved a deal that saw five captive Taliban fighters freed for the release of Italian reporter Daniele Mastrogiacomo. Karzai, who was criticized by the United States and European capitals over the exchange, called the trade a one-time deal." But now governments don't want to make deals with them, because they understand they will just continue kidnapping and hurting people everytime they want something. The taliban is pure evil, and I hope they will soon be treated in the same way as they have treated others.
I think is horrible & shows these people in the correct light that they should be seen in. Just waiting for MattUK or Gstring to say "oh my gawd, that's racist (the taliban are a race right?)
I think Gworld and AGS will post something along with these lines- "This is a fault of Bush/America". If they post in this thread..
That these killers are misunderstood but generally lovely muslims, who have just had a hard time & are fighting with their own personal demons?
This is about the second korean hostage just killed: The comments came after Afghan officials found the body of Shim Sung-min, 29, a former information technology worker who was volunteering with the South Korean church group on an aid mission to Afghanistan. He was killed Monday after two deadlines given by the Taliban demanding the release of insurgent prisoners passed with no action. Last week the church group's leader, Pastor Bae Hyung-kyu, was fatally shot in unclear circumstances. A purported Taliban spokesman, Qari Yousef Ahmadi, said senior Taliban leaders decided to kill Shim because the government had not met Taliban demands to trade prisoners for the Christian volunteers, who were in their 13th day of captivity Tuesday. His father, Shim Jin-pyo, told reporters earlier Tuesday that he wondered how the Taliban "could perpetrate this horrible thing." "I think they act like they are not human beings," he said. (source)
These Koreans are just Christians, so I think they are less than human, brainwashed and have no life so what does it matter if they are killed??
The taliban just kidnapped and killed 4 afghan judges according to this... http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/02/world/asia/02afghan.html It also says in above article that the taliban stated several of the women hostages are very ill, and they cannot be responsible for their health. The afghan government is going to try to rescue them: http://www.abcnews.go.com/International/story?id=3435045 They said, "The Afghan government has said that giving in to rebel demands would only encourage more kidnapping." I will really be hoping for success of the afghani government in saving those hostages.
