    When you say updated every 7 days, do you mean that is done automatically or if we check back after 7 days, it will then update?

    www.alivedirectory.com = 44,614
    www.bigweblinks.com = 8,724

    I have a suggestion that may be helpful. I think it would be a much better presentation and usability if you trapped the errors, retried a few times automatically, and if still fails, move on to the next.

    But the update will be only for websites in the database! as this is being done to

    reduce the resource usage!

    cool tool,... you could try using what seomoz.org has... some graphic to show the user something is happening! ... and then display the result in one go... the "opening page ..." gets on you.

    Higher the page data more popular among visitors!

    Instead of a number like 42000 etc.,

    I have modified it to display the rank 1 to 10

    just like PS and PR

    I ran it on www.alivedirectory.com, but it just stopped after a while with seemingly no result (other than links shown with their number of links). I tried it again, and the same thing happened. Besides the issue there, didn't you used to have it where it would cache the data for a little time?
