Submission to Confirmation mails ?

I don't know whether it is suitable for this category.If not, mods please move .



I have seen that many of the directories are not giving confirmation mails for the submission.What can be the reason ?

 

i think its duplicated information if submitter receives success message in the browser. Peak Level just sends mail when a site has been aproved.

 

Personally I think those email notifications are annoying,so NO in my directories.

 

I personally prefer to receive all emails to confirm that submission is received, also when payment has been made and if accepted or rejected.

I send them all as i cant see why i shouldn't be doing that for people.

Recently i did have to alter something in one of my directories where submitters were not receiving confirmation emails upon payment.

I personally think its good to keep the people informed throughout the process, explain everything and leave no mystery.

 

I just use to submit my sites to :

But receive only 50% confirmation mails.Is it due the problem from the provider.

 

I am also a directory owner. But I always give enough patronage to my members. I'll intimate tham once their link is uploaded. You can submit your websites to my PR-3 directory (tanthra.com) and also recieve confirmation email. At present I am accepting only reciprocal and featured link...

 

nahhh..... those are new directories they probably only have the main
stuff done in the first week figuring out the basics...

Then you must have got a lot of spam from me when you submitted Lively Web Directory

Well, currently I am sending 3 mails/notification (Submission, Payment, Accept/Reject)

Don't know how most of people take that but I think Payment & Approval/Reject notification should be there.

 

imo paypal is the one to send the payment confirmation .. i agree with approval .. and if your directory is paid one and you refund when rejecting .. you can submit your comment about rejection with the refund.

 

Well, that will work IF you only have PayPal setup.

I accept e-gold & MoneyBookers as well and they don't send any notification to submitter. So, I need to have it setup at my end.

 

i just have the accept email on..if i accept your site,you will get an email saying as much

 

Well let me tell ya about paypal...

They contacted me the other day by phone regarding the yahoo spam filter and said that if you have a yahoo account as the main feedback then chances are that you aren't receiving your payment verifications on time so...

If you havent been getting your notices on time or if they are in the BULK mail folder then....ya been warned

PS... have you noticed the nice surprise you get now after you refuse a Link?
ummmm yes a FEE as if they didnt get ya coming in they also hit ya going out now

didnt notice that .. just checked .. my last refund was 22thjuly and balance for me is 0 .. but i would want to clarify this .. because i wouldnt want not to only loose time when reviewing and refunding a rejected site but money too .. maybe this would make its own post = refunds

 

I send confirmation mails about submission and acceptance processes. I think it is easier for the submitter to check e-mails than visiting directory again and again and searching for his domain name.

 

Confirmation should be given to all.

It is a way of knowing where your money has gone to and it also enables you to keep tabs on spending.

 

It's all about the scripts running the dirs and there setings

Mine send ail only when aproved/disaproved no point sending mail when submiting

 

yeah i got 6 to be exact...ooooh,i should have reported them as spam.

re:yeah people will receive a notification about approval/rejection in my dirs.
