...I'd think DP is different.

It was easy to decide to register.
I could tell I'd learn a lot here.

 

A friend of mine talked about the site, and I figured it couldn't hurt to check it out. An hour or two after just browsing topics, I decided to register and join in

 

I registered pretty much straight away, but I don't think I posted much for a very long time. It seems quite common that people don't dive in as fully active members on forums right away.

Are all those 'guests' real guests, or are some of them search engine bots?

psst, you have hurd of search engines, content scrapers, robots....right!!!!! Probably about 1,200 arn't even humanoids!!!

 

yep i guess that might be logical..but i still feel that many are just actual guests..

as for me..i signed asap when i stumbled on this site for the first time...and been grateful for that..learned a lot here

 

yeah, there are alot of search bots from yahoo, they are crazy when it come to indexing pages on their website.

Google on the other hand has very few browsing around, sadly so...

 

I joined...and then it took me six months for me to even make my first post!!!!

Nope, it took me about 1 month of checking out DP before I decided to join.

 

same as htmlindex, near a month before i joined .

I register the first time i came

If i don't register the first time i will never register

 

I also registered the first time I came to the forums. But I was using the Keyword Suggestion Tool and other Tools offered at DP way before I actually became a member here. I wasn't much active in the beginning when I signed up, but am pretty active now

 

I believe I joined right when I came here. Maybe not the first time, but a few times after that

 

I'd expect vB software to be able to detect and not count bots, but don't claim to actually know.

I was a lurker for a couple of months before I joined up.

Even today I still browse the forum as a guest.
