Guys, just analyze “mayalight dot net” .This is not my site; I thought it is good for our SEO study so I came up with it.

This site is PR3 and having zero back links on google.
But for yahoo its showing 8 back links and the mystery is none of these backlinks are having PR except one which is having “external nofollow” attribute.

Those who had analyzed some thing like this before please put some focus on this issue.

As u know that google go for back links update, and some time this happen to your site as u have PR but google shows 0 back links. i have experience the same thing with my PR4 site in last pr update. one day suddenly google shows 0 back links of that pr4 domain. but withing 4 days back links was updated with new counts.
just keep your eye on this domain and check its back links after 4-5 days.i hope it wil show updated link count.

This also happen on one of my blog. Pr was 3 but back links 0. However in that time google web master tools indicated 1000+ back links to this blog.

Not sure age is a big deal when it comes to PR. My 06 month old webdirectory has PR5 while my 3 year old blog is with PR3.

PR is purely based on your backlinks and the PR of those pages where your link is placed.

I think pr stand for the improtance of your site,so if you got good traffic, that means you site is welcome.in that case google will give your site a pr.

I m agree with this statement,
i had seen some domain which get pr2 without doing any link building for it.the age factor play a big role there.
just try it your self, buy one domain put some content on home page and keep it as it is, u will have to index it. and u will get pr without doing other effort.

But that page has only 12 backlinks as per yahoo, and 0 backlink as per google. Obtaining PR3 is quite amazing.

Yes, age of domain does not effect PR

see this might be because all your pages must be inter-linked to themselves...this itself creates a backlinks to site

I know it.. I still do believe Google do not show all link backs used for PR evaluation...

btw some link backs might lose their PR during the recent updates..

    Thanks
