We have a nice cross section of people here from many countries, relgions, and backgrounds. It would be great do hear what you all would consider the worst politcal blunder(s) of all time. It would be great to see the diferent perspectives from around the globe.

One from my lifetime would be not taking Saddam out of power during the first Gulf War when we had the chance.

I'm not sure what is the worse political blunder, but I found this qoute and thought it was kind of funny...

"My fellow Americans, I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."
--Ronald Reagan, about to go on the air for a radio broadcast, unaware that
    the microphone was already on

I guess he was just joking around, and didn't realize his microphone was on. source

That's funny. I think old Ronald knew how to use that kind of humor, whereas the current president is just a bumbling idiot.

In 1917 the Ottoman Empire was collasping and the British had driven the Turks out of vast swathes of the Middle East - including the area that is now the modern state of Israel. The British established a Jewish homeland there (even though it was occupied by people who had been there for over 1000 years). The man responsible, British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour, said:

"Arabia is such a large place, I'm sure the Arabs won't mind giving up a small piece of it so the Jews can have their own home."

Well he called that one right didn't he?

Where is AGS? Surely he will respond with "that terrorist Bush for starting an illegal war"....what law was broken again? And I think Congress voted for the War before Bush could put his sig on it...

ross perot getting stockdale as his vp pick. I think that'd rank near the top. If he'd picked a more credible vp, he could have pulled many more votes in 1992.

I think they meant 'we' as in 'Digital Point' members. And they're right, it IS a good cross-section. I was expecting far more red-necked, bible-bashers.
