Hi, I get about 300 to 400 unique visits a day and I do alot of advertising online. Through Google Adwords, I have decent ranking for keywords in the Google search engine and others as well. I do Shopping.com and Shopzilla.com I will be lucky if I see 7 sales for the month. Does anyone have any advise for a small online business to successfully market online? Thanks Chris www.iCandyClothing.com
no offense, but your site looks very unprofessional, so ppl tend to leave it. try to invest more in design (make ppl to stay on your site). there is a review forum here on DP, submit your site there and see what the guys have to say.
nah I refuse to believe that is the reason, actually you are the first in 2 years I've heard someone say that about the site. MY competition is huge (drjays.com) and alot of smaller retailers as well online. Thanks Chris
I agree.. you should invest some more in the design of your site... if you have an extremely professional looking site, people want to stay and look around.. also, I think that drjays has a much more professional looking site if that is your competition. no offence but I would chose that site over your due to the way it looks
Keap promoting and a bether design will olso help I don't have quite nothing with the curent one but ... try to make it look more "buyeble"
the store looks very good to me. simple, focused on the product, with a clear structure! I would rather buy from you than from a fancy looking web X.0 store, where the design is more important than the merchandise. what I would definitely change is that male model! you realy need some cool looking guy. sorry if this should be you on the pictures but that's how it is. ;-) also more than one model would do a better job also. greetz elwood
You should definitely look into a redesign. Actually, a consistent design would serve you best. Your headers change way too often, your background changes and the point of where the content begins is different on every page. Furthermore, you don't even have an h1 or h2 tag throughout your whole page. So here's what you should do first: - Create an h1 tag on EVERY PAGE. For the homepage it would be "Urban Clothing", then for the subpages for example, "Fuya Group". - Create h2 tags. There is several things you could do in this area which could improve your page. Without a redesign/different layout you could change the "Shop by Brand" "Shop by Appearal" headers into actual h2s or h3s. - STOP CHANGING THE BACKGROUNDS! It's one of the most annoying things a webpage can do (besides music). Changing the backgrounds can hurt someones eyes or at the very least turn them away from a potential buy. - Stop changing where the content begins! This makes the pages much harder to read, thus turning someone away. - Change the top links to text. Never use images as links. Images as links don't pass much "juice" to other pages. Just by making these simple changes, I can guarantee you will get much much much more traffic from Google and more sales.
Better use of images and colors on the front page would help. Nothing grabs me when I visit your site. It's very plain and drab. Make some sort of promotion would be good as well. Even if it isn't a real "deal" as such, why would anyone buy anything when all they see is full-priced gear? People want perks. Give them some.
9000 visitors a month and 7 sales is a .1% conversion rate... ouch. Are people looking at a few pages and leaving? Or are they backing out the same page they came in? I checked a few different Items and the only sizes were 2x, 3x and xxxxl. Only one size for each item? Huge? ... or I guess big's the style? The textual content and text links are... so out of the box basic. No pizzazz. These clothes are for an "individual" look. An out of the ordinary look, right? Hard to find? So the style of site should be jazzed up too. Think of what the audience is used to... design of site should reflect tastes of those who like these clothes. May be better to ADD to Cart, rather than BUY NOW. It's difficult to figure how to go back to shopping where you were. Most shirt stores have closeups of the designs, I don't mind the model, but I'd like to be able to see the clothing better.
A site design is much like a physical store. If it is not presentable what will attract visitors? If visitors are not attracted to your site, you will have a low return. If your design is 2 years old, it may be time for change. Investing in a new site design could definitely increase your profits. You can find a really nice template online for a good price. The way people shop is by look and feel. If this site is not attractive, why should they stay? If they are not attracted, even if they find a product they want, they will look else where. Get ahead of the ball game, get a really nice site and watch your visitors shop. You will get the money back in return.
Well, I'd be inclined to listen to people here; they really know their stuff. I don't see any issues with the site, myself. Looks fine to me. I suspect you need even more visitors; often only a very small percentage of people buy. That's common.
Have you thought about email marketing? Most programs come with a newsletter attatchment, or it's easy to build your own via phplist. Why not add a box somewhere on your home page? That way, people who are on your site and interested (but don't want to buy) can sign up, then once a month email them. I'd also shrink the front page graphic by about a third too and lose the image navigation up the top (text navigation works better for SEO purposes)
well if i was to come across this site on the web the first thing i would think is this is somebody is trying to scam me.
How many sales you do per month? Design on drjays.com is much better than yours. Also promote it more.
The design looks like its stuck in the 90's I'm afraid. A clothing site has to look top notch. I would hire a designer if I were you and really bring the site to life. Skinny
I doubt drjays would be one of your main competitors. 7 sales this month? I've ordered more than that from drjays this month. You need to add more clothes to your store. You have only 4 tee's under 'Avirex'. Compare this to DrJays and they have 67 Avirex items. The site looks fine, but you need to change the text on the left hand side. Make it look a bit better. If you need someone to optimize your site to get more organic visitors, then hit me up via PM. Good luck.
First off please do not assume. These hoodies are NOT knock offs or FAKES. This company laughing apes is located in LA and are US based. Because you are not aware of the many brands out there please do not judge. Many companies follow trends just like Ecko and Rocawear do, they all copy Bape. You wouldn't understand your not in the industry. Thank You
Thanks everyone for the feedback. We do use email marketing and advertising on Google, Yahoo and shopping search engines. The selection is very limited because we do not have the buying power to have account with some brands like Ecko (they want $5000/mo purchase of inventory). And this is where i'm stuck, some people see the design as fine and others hate it. Some think its a scam LOL no clue how that appears. I understand the site cannot compare to big million dollar companies like drjays.com. Where small, and thats exactly what we are is a small company, so the design not only has to fit the market, but also fit our budget as well. I do agree that we need more in-store promotion like images, and showing off new items etc. Thanks for the feedback. Bring more
