Please tell me how does PR gets calculated as... my dump domains with just about 5pages gets PR3 with no marketing no backlinks no SEO no directory submission... nothing...

Then how it can be...? and most of all is PR most important or the traffic ?

and just saw one more thing... FAKE PR and VALID PR ??? what's this ???

PageRank is about links to and from your individual Web pages. Not just links from other sites, but also links from other pages within your site.

For example, if one of your domains has no external links (meaning links from other sites) coming in, but it has a page that has every other page linking to it - let's say one link per page, then that one page will receive one "vote" for every link that pointed to it.

And yes, that can work the other way as well. If the same site has one page linking to every other page, then those other pages will receive a "vote" from that one page, but that page in and of itself won't have any (whatever weight it may have had will have been given to the other pages).

The best option of course is to have more incoming links than outgoing links (and remember, this is per page, not per site). It's like a bucket of water so to speak. You can keep pouring water into it, but if the bucket's full of holes, it'll never get filled up.

This short novel (sarcasm) may give you somewhat of an understanding:www. iprcom.com/papers/pagerank/

Also, you can use PR checker tools to help you verify the validity of a pages PR. Just type in "PR checker" in google for some sites that offer this tool.

in real world traffic is what people go after as thats going to bring you revenue and not high PR. For business what counts is revenue.

I think its the excellent answer... i know PR is essential but at the end of the day you need to have traffic which results in revenue...

Because i have seen some sites whose PR's are 0 or 1 or 2 but they have excellent traffic and unique visits... and they earn... handsomely

For driving traffic from high competitive keywords you need strong PR. I had seen some hosting sites purchasing few links from PR9-8 sites and ranking Excellent on SERP.
I had not seen any PR 2 or PR 3 site ranking in first 50 for web hosting or same competitive keyword.

May be some SEO gurus will disagree with it, But it’s a FACT!

*DING* *DING* *DING* Give this person a beer! :D

Search engine rankings help, but they're not the magic silver bullet everyone makes them out to be. (In other words, it's just one of many tools the Web developer/marketer should use, rather than the only one. After all, do you see a carpenter build houses using only a hammer? Didn't think so.)
