Bad side of Google analytics ?

I haven't used Google analytics yet and want to give it a try. I have heard enough good things about it but like to know if there is anything bad about it from guys who use it.

no regrets here...I have been using it for almost two years

 

No problems here either - great depth of reports and a lot more customizability in the latest version. Sometimes I even set clients up with direct access.

 

there is no bad think for google anatitics .

it's a great and free tool which is provided by google

 

I find it better than awstats.

 

I found it hard at the beginning to find stats i was interested in because there is a lot of them, but with time you will get use to it.

 

Does it let you use several sites with a single Google analytics account ?

 

The only thing I don't like about it is the fact Google knows every step you make.
This makes me kinda nervous

Best part is it's free.

 

Only problem I have is it's slow to update sometimes, (in fact it's been the worst I've ever seen today for some reason, it was telling me I had no hits all morning when I know for a fact that's wrong). If you don't mind that your hit counts aren't real-time then it's great.

I think,its a nice tool.

 

the tracking system should put you in a good position of knowing where your site is going and such the more you know the better don't go bananas trying to figure the whole thing out just watch your status.

 

I have nothing to complain about. However, a few more features would do, even if the current version is fine.

 

i totally agree, too much power in one person or company is never a good thing

 

though it looks good there are lot of difference between real visitors and Visitors shown by Google

one reason it that Google analytics code at the bottom of the file.As Google analytics take a lot of a time to download ,a user may go away from the page even before it has been counted by a Google analytics

The real issue is, by Google's own admission (their privacy policy) they cannot display the path of a unique visitor through your site. I've found this to be a major problem when you are looking at the more in depth stats, and trying to get them to influence online marketing decisions.

 

Bad thing... I think it shows the traffic less than the actual one.
I compared it with other analytic tools which use server logs. It may be related to "loading google analytic script" while loading the page.

Yes it can and there are times when there are big delays. Thats why its recommend to have the code at the very bottom of the page, so everything else loads first.

Its a great service for free. My only gripe is with having to click too much to get all the stats needed.
