I scorn your country and many of its people, but I don't prejudge as a rule. Agreed. Believe me when I say that I look forward to a time when the US changes some of its core values and is able to present itself to the world as the gentle giant I'm sure it can be. Until then...
Guys, GTech Don Quixote cannot serve in the military due to a number of reasons, Mould rot in his wooden leg The US Military's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy They aren't accepting applications from 10 year olds yet GWB has charged GTech with harboring Bin Laden One bad eye and two deaf ears Davey Crockett Coon Skin hats are not authorized military issue
You scorn my country; you literally hate my country. Not much else to say, is there? We've screwed up, and I regret this President's tenure. But our history is not contained to this President and his policies. Omaha and Juno, for example, where our two nations' blood commingled to do the right thing. Many other instances - but besotted with hate, it can't be seen.
Well, since you base your hate on actions taken by this regime, you must believe history has some inertia on the future. Nevertheless, I'm game - let's drop the hate, shall we, and move on to the future?
Agreed, and to be clear, I never said that I hated America or its people. But keep in mind that your country is still a democracy (in some sense of the word) and the actions of the elected officials can only be decided by the people. This war could have ended before it started if Americans weren't so blood thirsty following September 11th.
No, to be clear, you said: Since to scorn is to hate, you hate my country and many of my fellows. Unless you wish to engage in useless sophistries. I stand by my original comment. I don't condone this President's actions in the last several years. But you have zero business pontificating on "our bloodthirstiness" following the 9/11 attacks on my soil. In other words, regarding our right to protect our land and our people, kiss my ass.
AGS, I have no use for you. None whatsoever. You may continue to post your ignorant blatherings, of course, as this is a public forum. But if it wasn't previously evident to you, I will say it plainly: I hold you in zero regard. Your facile attempts to paint a "crazy" anything are only tragic, as I believe you are absolutely, clinically out of your mind; and with the last shred of compassion I can muster for you here, I'd recommend you get help.
I'm sorry buddy, I think I might be mistaking you with Blogmaster, you both pop into P&R every now and then posting utter twaddle.
I'm aware it hurts. But there's no one here to lick your wounds. You'll have to make the difficult journey yourself.
Thanks buddy, seriously I apologise. It is so easy to get confused with all the sheeple we have in the DP P&R all posting in exactly the same manner. It's easy to get you mixed up sometimes.
It's only easy to a limited mind, that sees "types" and "gangs" around every corner. The problem, AGS, is that the mind can be a marvelous, complex thing, capable of subleties that bedevil the easy circumscription. Or it can be a mutilated box whose only use is the storing of shit made patent with easy to read labels. You fall in the latter category, and your thoughts are meritless. Sorry.
None, in my opinion. But if you'll re-read the posts, this wasn't the condemnation. I do not support our policies over the last several years - and have said so, in detailed fashion, numerous times, across dozens of threads. It diverted spare resources, ignored the reality of centuries of accumulated schisms in Iraq, and obliterated whatever goodwill we once had on the world stage. But I take "bloodthirsty following 9/11" at face value, and I stand by what I said.
