Just edit out your submit template, replace the form with a message stating you will be back on xx date. Remember to keep a back up of the template file with the form in.

If you’re only away for a short time, add a message saying when sites will be reviewed and allow submission to continue.

    Thanks Brian

This seems to be the best option. Why lose potential custom unnecessarily?

Just disable SUBMIT button on submit.php page.
    Where it starts:
    <input type="submit" .....
    add like this:
    <input disabled type="submit" .....

You can do it with all inputs to be sure.
Make additional note on submit page.

I'm leaving for vacation in few days too.
However half of hour/daily for accepting links is enough.
So I can go to internet cafe or purchase prepade card for my laptop....
Only won't be able install mods and supporting it for some time.

    Have already my sunglasses prepared.

Just switch to paid for the week. That ought to cut down onthe volume a bit.

Delete the submission page from the server.

For me its better a big announce that tell you are going to be out for 15 days for example.
So if the submiters still wants to submit they will do, if not, maybe they will wait the 15 days.

Personally I don't like the solution of removing the submit page or removing the submit button, because the submitters will think the website is broken and that is not good for the site itself.
