Top notch army officers don't start the life as four star generals. They go up in ranks in the army and they have an appreciation for the life of their soldiers and their colleagues.

It is different when someone is born with a silver spoon in his mouth and then silver spoon of coke up his nose with people who actually served in military and know about the life and death situation that front line soldiers face. ;)

If those soldiers thought that they had gone to war for something "illegal" (AGS's words), then why would they be jogging with the president? Maybe they consider their loss a service to their country??

No doubt. And when I see a picture of a hockey-loving, maple-leaf worshipping, Canuck I pretty much know it represents the majority of Canadians. In fact, I take everything you say as literal truth that represents all of your countrymen.

We don't often worship leaves of any type but you'd be surprised by the insane amount of us who do worship the great sport of hockey!

Regardless, if I saw the same photo with Stephen Harper and two amputee soldiers from Afghanistan, I'd say the same thing. That's because my humanism takes priority over my patriotism.
