I'm with Amazon UK and have found that my earnings tend to be somewhat erratic. Some months I do quite well (about the same as you have done here except in English pounds). Other months I get very little. It's got to depend on traffic and getting buyers to your site. I have focused most on books, but have done an article now and again on electrical stuff and that holds the most attraction on the web I think.. There are some people earning good money with Amazon, and I am constantly trying to find ways to improve things
Unless your traffic is really low, you will get a nice spike during Nov/Dec. Everything you do all year is really just getting ready for those 2 months. Build good content now. It's getting late already.
My script stores are not returning anything now, just relying on product recommendations - earning too have been erratic, not much more than a couple of hundred last few months. Your figures are good if you are just starting out, just keep at it. All the best
I don't promote Amazon stuff really. AS a result, I make like $10 a month. My promotion is basically, taking a piece of code, throwing it on a page and forgetting about it. I had thought of building a couple Amazon sites with AoM, but I just can't get excited about doing a bunch of work for pennies in commission each month. It seems like you need to put in serious work to crack $5k+ in commissions with Amazon. Might be easier to stand on the street corner with a sign for donations.
AOM is a good idea if you ask me if you find the right products you can at least pay for the AOM license
I've always hated the Amazon affiliate program. I convert about the same there as I do with other programs, the amount I make per sale is just much lower. As long as that's going to happen, why not promote something that gives me more money?
Erratic revenue here as well..though I'm glad I managed to sell of 8 copies of harry Potter's final book through my blogspot blog!
AOM stands for Associate-o-Matic..its great. I've created a squidoo lens thats all about AOM - check it out: http://squidoo.com/associate-o-matic
I have one site using AOM (I actually bought the site). The software is clumsy as hell, but it works for the most part. It sure beats me doing the work to add items. I sold something through Amazon the other day and got $7. It must have been a 2008 Ferrari.
ha ha ha, thats funny . I heard they just give a commission of 1% of very expensive itmes like plasma tv and all. I'm sure they dont sell ferraris though
And the cookie duration is too short. With the same effort you can make much more with other affiliate programs.
last month I got only 40$ this month, forecast i will get about 60-70$ a little bit greater than previous month. But ok for me
The lowest commission is 4% for electronics. I haven't found a Electronics Affiliate that is better than that. NewEgg only gives 1%. Everything else is on a sliding scale where the more you sell the higher the percentage starting at 4% but it only takes 7 items to get up to 6% and it goes all the way up to 8.5%.
