I wouldn't say full. In fact I wouldn't say the number of spammers are very high. Just the ones that are there are prolific. And they're getting dealt with harshly. The spammers I mean. iframes are out. Which was a kick in the shins for the legitimate lensmasters, but I know it's a move that will effect hundreds of lenses (maybe even thousands, but there's 200,000+ lenses at the site) which were nothing but an intro module and a Write/Text module with an iframe. There's also the new catchpa system. And a few other things that have been introduced over the past few weeks, and more to come. I'm looking forward to spammers not having an easy ride. No site will ever be rid of them completely, but it's a move in the right direction to make it as difficult for them as possible and also cut them down as soon as possible so they can't be rewarded.
yeah it's nice to know that they're cracking down on spammers. If they can keep spam under control then quality lenses can succeed instead of being penalized b/c of others.
I'm seeing squidoo lens come on google searches for top keywords, so google must not be too "mad" at them.
There has been definite improvement over the last 7 days or so following the "crack down" which they initiated following the "slap" I think it's a good medium to long term bet and good quality, content filled lenses will certainly see good results. The 30 or so spammers who hit them hard with multiple lenses seem to have been largely eradicated. Take care Paul
It's more like 30000 and 80-90% of all lenses are still just stuff copied from somewhere else and not unique, "thin affiliates" how google would call them.
How many lenses have you been looking at? I've been reporting lensmaster accounts that have adult content but a G rating and it may seem like 40 or more individual lensmaster accounts, and indeed it is, but it is the ONE person behind all the accounts. They all have the same affiliate ID in the code. So 30 spammers would be a lot closer to the mark than 30,000.
