Trust me man when you reach level 70, and you have 200 friends online in that game. Then that is how it gets addictive.
I think the gameplay of WoW is pretty good, although the PvP could use some work. Friendships in a game does keep people around, it's one reason I stuck around EQ1 for as long as I did. If they tweaked the death system to that game to make it.. not so rough at very high levels, and re-vamped the graphics.. I'd probably be playing it. EQ2 isn't really.. the 2nd EQ IMO. It just doesn't feel the same at all. Oh ya.. I went off on a rant lol. I do that sometimes while discussing MMO's haha. Warhammer Online looks to be very promising, I'll probably be giving that one a shot. It's sort of like WoW (in a way), but it has RvR and is built around PvP right from the start.
I never made it to level 70, I had like 8 level 40-50's lol. I kept wanting to play a different class.
I play Second Life but that's more of a social network in virtual world than a "game" to me. Though I'm not sure others see it that way.... KK
Years ago my ex and myself where into everquest. Now I couldn't ever play another MMORPG again. way too life destorying. We did sell our accounts for a nifty profit though.
