Hi, I'm looking to create a MySpace Resource site but i'm curious as to whether or not it'd be worth it. I've heard alot about people earning quite alot from some of them whilst others don't earn that much. I know that it's obviously a flooded market but it's worth a try, there isn't that much to lose other than a some work to get it up and running and the cost of the script. To the people who run, or have previous ran sites such as this... What are your experiences with them whether they were positive or negative? Did you make any money from them?
my friend owns one and makes a ton of money. it is now ranked 7,349 on alexa he also opend a help forum witch is even more popular.
Well, If you got too much traffic this kind of sites are always a good idea. I run myspace resources website few months ago and earn about $3-$5 a day
The $ per click is way low. I was making more from our forum that discussed the profile changes you could make than on our actual profile coding site. Good luck though! We are now selling one of our sites related to myspace that we no longer have time to launch: http://www.topmodelprofiles.com Here is where we are selling it: http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/10867
The competition is heavy so you need to have some solid plans to get original layouts, comment boxes, funny images and other stuff. I'm having two myspace resource sites and about 7 more are underway. I does make $5-$10 per day. Thanks Go4
What scripts did you use for them? I bought this one (myspacescripts.info) about 24 hours ago and still haven't go the files sent to me yet.
agg i hate that one, i bought it off ebay like 2 years ago. a really nice one to buy is at myspacepros.com/products, i think its $300
I recently made one bcse a friend of mine has a music page with 8000+ friends on it.I thought it would be a good way to make some money.I really have a couple of other site ideas.I just don't have the time or money to create them right now. I've only made $3 in the past 10 days of starting the site.I only got about 300 to 400 visitors from a bulletin that my friend posted. The per click value is very low.I just paid for some link subscriptions.I was not planning to pay $20 to $40 a month for advertising for a myspace resource site. I'm going to spent about another $200 or $300 for content and advertising in the next couple of months. Then I've moving on to what I really want to do. This is just my 2 cents about it.Good luck if you decide to start one.
$300 is a big much I reckon, though it does seem nice a very nice script. It'd suck though to pay that much then have MySpace use that "myspacelinks" thing and redirect to their homepage instead of your site using that. They never got back to be after they received the payment and I emailed them. Seems like I got scammed out of $18 AUD... damn scum. I was intending on using the cheaper script and just improving it.
Stay awayfrom turn key scripts. Create original and unique content. Many resource sites add "roaches"(graphics and links in the corners of profiles. It's not considered "hip" to have these on your profile anymore. A lot of sites did this for the quick buck and are now dropping like flies) to peoples profiles and since internalizing links MySpace has banned a lot of resource site. Clicks for resource sites went down to 1-2 cents with all of the turn key sites and spam. Clicks are back up to 5-10 cents Don't just target MySpace. If you create original content, it can also be used on blogs and oter sites.
Yeh, I realise that, I noticed how many of them there really are. I was thinking though to add some tutorials for users if they want to read them teaching some CSS and Html so they can instead edit their own profiles instead of using the generators. Also how to fix problems in the profiles from some CSS code errors.
MySpace has it's own comperhensive online editor now, and it's pretty damn good. You'd be spinning your wheels.
I totally agree about creating something original.I can't stand to see a million myspace sites that look exactly the same.I would also try to avoid popular forums where they sell layouts.Everyone is buying the same thing.I would make the layouts yourself or get someone to make some for you that isn't in the myspace layout business.
