How do we approach DP about suggesting the changes?

I just wanted to start a thread on the same issue.

it sometimes takes hours to find the few interresting offers between all those crappy turnkey, "unique stolen content", hardly a month old web pages. I call them simply shit.

another point I would like to mention is that nobody is stopping those guys that try to sell their same piece of shit every other week for a fortune.
the ones frequeting the site sale forum will know which auctions I am talking about. e.g. cheats, tops 100 sites

maybe a little charge would stop all that.
even better the idea of having an "established sites" or "premium sites" forum.
somebody giving his site away for $ X,XXX will not realy mind paying 10 bucks or whatever for a listing.

and yes, I do also buy some of those "sponsor a wordpress theme" links, but I would love to see those offers in a different section.

this is all about quality and service, and none of those two is there to be found in the "buy, selll or trade - sites" forum.

I think this is a great idea. I'm not a big seller/buyer of sites but it sounds like a logical feature to add to a busy marketplace.

    You got my vote.

I vote for many new sub-forums in the sites section.
Do you want 10-25 specific suggestions?

I completely agree, there should be a different section for established sites buy and sell, even if its paid to weed out the unwanted sites...

Way to go! Treating people who have decent suggestions for the forum like a piece of shit is sure to not only boost traffic but to increase your self-esteem as well!

Why is it that so many people are unable to treat others with just a shred of decency? He asked a question after posting this thread and receiving no official response; its not a surprise that he didn't realize that this was the official forum for making suggestions.

I'm not convinced that a paid section is the solution. One poster implied that sitepoint's paid section solved the turnkey/'high-potential site' problem. However, Sitepoint's Established and Premium forums are flooded with 'high-potential' and just-established sites.

The solution is to established a moderation queue in a new Established Sites forum. Two or three qualified moderators, spread across different time zones, will subjectively determine the definition of an Established Site. It'll keep the trash out and build a reputation for the DigitalPoint site marketplace.

The problem is that most people tend to believe that they are owners of sites with potential based on their own criteria and not real facts.

Developed sites should be broken into the following subforums, IMO:

Turnkey Sites | Budget Sites | Developed Sites | Established Sites | Adult Sites (as-is)

Turnkey sites - sites that do not feature a custom/unique template and/or script/database/content powering the site.

Budget sites - sites for $100 and below. Can be developed or made to sell.

Developed sites - sites over $100 that are fully-developed and aged 4 months or older.

Established sites - sites popular in their niche, well-established, and possible high revenue associated.

    What do you think? :)

I don't think the suggestion is a bad idea. I have been browsing the section a lot the past few days & have seen these so called "established" sites. However I don't know if I agree with the attitude of serious sites for serious prices.

Everyone has a right to feel a certain way about their product & such comments seem to diminish for no good reason. One person's junk might be the next person's treasure.
