I agree. Nice site but with too many ads at the beginning. It kind of discourages the visitors.
Other than that you used safe color for the site and looks a little bit generic. However, it looks nice.
I would suggest to use a different color pattern to differentiate your site from the competition. Be daring.

    Few thoughts
Everythings looks great at first glance --- however
    1) You need a large logo in upper left header
    2) Do something to the first large box --- its hard to read the text and links.

only one suggestion make it in 1024 resolution...this will make site more pleasant and there will be enough breathing space beween different section.

    Ok, as I see it:

    1) Baby sized px fonts next to useless without zooming in 50% or more for 'large font/120 dpi' users.

    2) "crappy little stripe" fixed width layout leaves way too much 'white space' on newer machines.

    3) insufficient contrast between the dark grey and black in the google ad, insufficient contrast between the orangeish header texts and the dark grey background - both making those sections effectively illegible. (which combined with the what... 9px fonts? Total /FAIL/ for usability)

    4) code seems a bit tag heavy - way too many containers and tables for such a simple layout.

Though if those are the biggest of your problems, you are doing quite well. I'm not seeing excessive/unneccessary inlined presentation which means you've got your classes working for you - though I do think you've got about twice as many classes and DIV's as are needed.

Biggest thing is the text size - I would suggest switching to either pt or %/em in a font size at LEAST 25% larger than you have now... and making the columns/fixed width either semi-dynamic via min/max-width, or self enlarging via pt or %/em.

Get rid of the two larger ads in the top. In 1024 res all I see is ads. You have 9 ads spots on the main page. That is sort of a turn off.

You might want a more distinct logo.

Remove that google search, unless it searches your site

I like your color scheme, but your logo sticks out like a soar thumb.

Get rid of intro header or compress it to one line. Say what your site does in 10 words or less.

Ads? What ads? (opens it in FF) - oh, I see. My opera adblock was stopping 90% of the ads from showing.

Yeah, ease up on those too. When your content is two pages down on 800x600, people aren't even going to bother visiting the site in the first place.

The same thing happened to me. I always forget when I am in FF that I have ad block running. It just seems natural to not have them there. ABP is the best usability extension, IMHO.

Wheras I run Opera - I don't 'need' an extension. Between it's built in blocking capabilities and user css...

What does adding more ads have to with this (if you don't mind me asking, that is)?
