Up to $120.00 USD Contest for the best chosen logo design (details enclosed)

This one will test ya, I need a new logo for an old site that is having a complete facelift bringing it more into 2007 and beyond! I would also like a flash animation if possible so if you can do this as well then great! However; this competition is based mainly around the new logo/header and banner, but you can win up to $120 USD if you can do all of it.

1. Corporate
2. Globel (namesake: Globalization, Globally accessible, Global)
3. Software and service related

Requirements:
1. Logo, header and banner (3 items $90) maybe a flash animation as well $120!
2. Professional, modern and 'cool' maybe a little futuristic but no cheese please!
3. Brand type “TOTALLY unique and catchy”
4. Payment will be by paypal (on submission of PSD files etc.)
5. Rights and copyright of the images etc. must pass to Globel on payment!
6. Please post logo to the thread, as my partner would like to review them as well!
7. Do not like cheesy i.e. “spinning world designs” however I am open-minded and probably have not seen anything in this area that has impressed me yet!
8. Main colors are blues grays and whites (look at site) I am not adverse to a bit of color as long as it is tasteful and in keeping with the site itself!
9. If you do use any background/foreground graphics please ensure they are not copyrighted and are original!

The competition is open until the winner is chosen, I am hoping within 7 days to choose a winner, but if no satisfactory designs come forward I will keep extending this competition until we find one.

I have looked around similar competitions and based the prize on this:
Any of the four items $30.00 each i.e. if you can do logo, header and banner and also a flash animation then that is $120 prize money guaranteed to the winner! If you can just create the logo then that is $30 etc. Mind you if I am really impressed I will add a bonus to the prize money!

Ah yes; SIZE around 300 x 300 for the main brand logo same as http://fj0.net/globel.png however; (the header would be different) I will leave some of this to artistic license, I can reduce the physical size to fit the application with the PSD file etc.

For instance you may have a great idea for incorporating and extension external graphic into the logo to promote software or service? The eventual image could be 300 X 400 (that is still ok) it really is the design idea or concept that I need to like.

I suppose really the question would be does the size matter is it as easy to produce an 800 x 800 pixel image? The bigger the better I suppose! I can always reduce it, Whereas the other way round the image starts to get pixilated! .

Ideally I would like just the “G” in the logo and the header could feature the whole name like “Globel” but still featuring the logo design! Also if you wanted could have “Globel Technology” but I was thinking of leaving that out of the header to be honest! The “G” will eventually go on a software product box that may be sold by a reseller! The logo has very much got to be identifiable as a brand! “Meaning Globel Product”.

In the flash animation there could be the main logo, then words like “Technology, Software, or Administrator” used, also you could use zeros and ones like on the flash animation already on the proposal site!

Thank you, however; that one is very similar to: http://fj0.net/globel.png although the colors and font has changed the basic idea is the same, I have only provided the original logo’s as examples of stuff I have already done, I would ideally like something different to be honest!

This one is a bit of a challenge I know; after all it is a contest

In my opinion feedback:

swaymedia: I like this idea! An orb, not too sure about the blocky letters but then that does help towards it’s fantasy looks (I suppose) will need to live with this one a little, as for the “G” in the orb it is not the same but that might be intended as a refraction or reflection! However that could be a little bigger if possible as the orb is dominator at present that might be an idea for the eventual flash though.

Kia Ora (smart name) I was trying to move away from the “World” thing although I did not discount it fully (yet to be impressed) I think it looks so cheesy and 90’s, this is the biggest problem because the business IS Global and IS International, sorry to put a damper on otherwise great work, if anyone is going to use world pictures etc. could you please make them abstract or original, there is no problem about spelling we can always change that later it’s the design idea or concept that is important.

Conclusion:
Both are great work but for the design aspect and imagination my vote would have to go towards “swaymedia” this is an update of my opinion only and far from the final vote or end of this compitition, there are now 3 directors that want to vote on this! So it will go at least 7 days, however; we reserve to extend this should a winner not be found!

Kia Ora: Yet another take on the BIG “G” I like the volume, nice ‘n’ loud! I do like BOLD, swaymedia's is definitely the prettiest so far “it’s a beautiful thing”, and however this one does not mess around in coming to the point more concentration on the “G” as well, I do like it! This is going to get real hard I can see it coming, let me live with this one for a few days, serous competitor here though! I am glad this is not just down to me.

retzseo: I am really not sure about that one at all, it looks like it’s a mistake? You know when you get these papers that have been printed over twice by mistake, that’s how it looks to me, I am definitely going against the lowercase “g” as well! This has appeared on a couple now and it still looks what it is, I like the “frame world” though in the background, sorry retzseo overall I don’t like this one at all but thanks for putting it in and trying.

Hey Retzseo, I think that logo is great fella, clearly a winner, add that to a web 2.0 style and you would have a nice looking setup.

Sawymedia's is also very good, and could also win a design contest but doesn't fit in with the design of the site at all, and doesn't shout out to me, but to be honest, the site could do with a complete overhaul as it looks very bland and poor to me.

But hey, i'm not paying for it so just giving my 2 cents as a neutral.
