So I've got strong results in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. My site is many years old. Why won't ask pick me up? I submitted a site map a month or so ago, but it didn't seem to help. Where do they rank in terms of market share? Am I missing much?
u mean ASK site? i dont even think its much used at all nowadays...before yeah..now i dont think so..
Nobody uses ASK trust me, i have never seen any traffic worth mentining from ASK in over 3 years, i'm #1 on ASK too for many keywords.
ASK power Everyclick.com which has sent me over 70,000 uniqes in the last month so I wouldn't be so quick to rule them out.
I think Ask for the most part has pretty much died down a little bit. You don't really hear to much about them.
They are having a pretty strong advertising push here in the US. I thought they might be on there way to becoming relevant again. Sounds like not!
Question: "What is heck is up with Ask?" Answer: They raised big $$$$$ VC (venture capital) Big $$$$ got spent on expensive (and dumb) TV ads Big $$ is gone now
Like anything it takes time to become as big as others... Yahoo and Google were some of the first that got much attention and became titans in thier own rite. Its an even bigger uphill battle when you have 2 very large competeters to deal with... thx malcolm
One of my sites is 1.5 years old and despite numerous emails to Ask support and despite submitting a site map, it is still not in their index. That's pretty lame. If remember correctly, they have about 4% of the market. That number is from an article at least a year ago when they were still Ask Jeeves. With Microsoft's big push on live.com, my guess is that Ask has shrunk to maybe 2%. Still, I think putting some work into it is a smart thing to do. You never know where visitors come from, and every visitor can be valuable. /*tom*/
ask is very different from all others. The ranking algos are more based on links from online communities and forums
I thought they were the ones that rented butlers. I never gt any traffic from them, the butler did it.
