I know lots of users here use phpld, but i am looking for some reviews for esyndicat , as personally i used it for like 2-3 weeks only, and in that time had even coded my own template, so am quite familiar with its features, but times have changed newer versions have come out too. I was on 2.1 if i recall. Plus it might be better if i could get some real review for the script from those who are actually using the script for more than 2-5 months now, i know XXXXXxxxxxXXXXX used it too, he member of dp too , and had same opinion like me on the script, which was stay away from it. But anyways, its not a bash thread, so please let me know who here uses esyndicat. And which version the free or the paid ? Thanks.
I use it "MeatP" on one of my new dirs and its a paid one. Lot of features and has language integration. But we are building one with an English and our local language version so....
Thanks popo (my childhood picture stealer), how many languages does it support ( i recall only english in my admin panel when i used it)? Waana post on blog with url to the directory so others can see who actually uses the script
PH...I used to use it (paid version) for more than a year on one of my directories. I'll say from experience that it does offer a great set of features especially in the newer paid versions. I will refrain from listing why I no longer use it as to your request to keep this as a respectible "no bash" thread. I would still recommend it even given those reasons why I changed based on the features and functionality. My only caveat would be to proceed with caution. Simon is a respectible person (script coder) and I think he genuinely cares about the customer and the script. There have been some recent changes at ES that have left me wondering though on which direction the former ES is headed. Good luck on your research. tom
wildweb thanks for sharing the experience , well i hope its ok if i copy your comments and keep updating the eyndicat review blog post? If not i will remove them.. And i agree simon is great coder , but could use some extra hands. Thanks.
I just got the eSyndicat script and started a links directory. Its pretty cool coz it really seo friendly and has quite a great design.. Its easy to manage from the admin area. Check out their forum for the latest version's features..
I have used the script for more almost a week ( well, not really. I was busy with work). Anyway, esyndicat has unique features that come right out of the box. Some features that you won't find in PHPLD ( without the mods ). The problem I see like the above poster's, Wildweb. I really don't know if the script will be supported in 2 years or not. See, lifetime upgrades doesn't really give a nice future for the script. .02
Actually i think the latest phpld version 3.2 has more unique features as compared to esyndicat, but their newer version seems to have more features than phpld itself, like deeplinks feature but again faces the problem of template upgradeablity with mods installed etc... Also i feel the same what will be support situation 2 years from now. I tried it when support was already at a breaking point. @cleve1 how can you say its seo friendly while you have used it only few few days now?
