If my feature partner is reading this thread, greetings my friend My name is Robert and i am from Israel, I have some great ideas to develop my websites to global networks. My forum is located at BeWiseForums.com - does it has a potential? yes it does, just by the name you can enter any topic related board to it. What i want to achieve? i want to achieve the DTM network 1.5 years from now. and you are probably asking why? i want to succeed and website promoting is really an interesting challenge for me. What this forum will have in it? it will have everything (if my partner wants lil bit diffrent then ok, we will consider it) everything means related to the internet, it can have starting from marketing and ending at PC hardware boards. I don't want to reveal my ideas out here, i just can assure you i have the best ideas that everyone would want to know about Who my partner should be? he should be some one who knows first English, i don't care from where he is, i need a trust first. then i need that he will have the knowledge to succeed with the forum, i can put 150% in my forum, i need that my partner would be in the same mood. i need some one that want's things to work, who can fix problems, some one smart (just like me). Basicley what he needs to know is promoting, marketing, SEO, SEM, some one expert in the field who knows other webmasters websites personally. if he has an addition skills like designing (graphic) it will be a plus. How we gonna do this? each one of us invest 50% of the amount into the forum. any profit is split 50% as well. this a long run forum (years). To success with new forum you need custom design. Also You need some unique topics. Plan it, don't copy it from others forums/websites. And how much is that 50% to put into it. It's a bit early to put money into advertising. Only use of advertising is when people come through advertise to your forum and stay there.
wounded1987, I've had a look at the forum and I agree with sogastic. All you've done is copy the DP forum. The only difference is that there's a lot less people and you've got some very dodgy topics in there (ex: HYIP, Investment Programs, Autosurf, etc...) My advice is to concentrate on a niche, something that you like or follow, and create a forum around that. After that, you can branch out. Just my 2cents (or 4 pence...stupid currency fluctuations...)
yes i had thought about that. HYIP is not a dodgey topic, other forums use it as well... i still need a partner.
I don't mean to steal your thread, honestly, but now that we are on the topic of VB (it's hard for me to find someone who actually knows the backend management area & is within my budget to hire, so if someone can help, that would be much appreciated), I have a board that is driving me crazy. I paid for it like around Nov./Dec., & it's still not up My 2 issues are: 1. designing/layering the thread topics. B/c it's a city board, I wanted to deal with reviewing a whole bunch of businesses/sole propriotores, etc. so if I want a professional, or a store or something, I can go on there & search or add my own review. Then I didn't want to leave out the surrounding areas of TO, which is where I live, so I added in the bigger cities 30-45 minutes on the outskirts. www.share-toronto.com After all of this, it became a mess b/c it's too big/long, & I don't know what to do I'm trying to find someone experienced in this area & to do the settings so I can FINALLY get this thing launched. At this point I'm contemplating chucking it & starting the other MB I wanted to start, but I already paid for what you see to be on there. <sigh> Any help would be appreciated.
