I dunno if I got you right but. There is no death bike, thats a flying bike. Sirius was passionated about the bikes, and he had enchanted ordinary bike into one flying bike. When Sirius was arrested and sent to Azkaban, Hagrid took his bike. He used the same bike in book 1 for bringing harry to Private Drive. Since the enchanting the muggle artifacts is a crime in magical world, Hagrid simply cant park the bike in front of his hut. he must have hid it somewhere. thats why there was no mention of the bike in other books. I don't think it's an error. It's simply your wife's missed the thread between book 1 and book 7.
Just spoken to my wife, she gonna look again. Thinks it is error because although it may have been sirius bike initially, hagrid is the one who was flying it at the time of the crash into tonks garden. This is getting very 'columbo' now.
just finished it...man its cool..didnt know snape was on the good side after all... and dumbledores lies were really lies ;-)...
There is no error, that bike was given to hagrid after sirius was sent to azkaban. Havent read the last one yet (read about 100 pages, then decided to go back and read book 5 & 6)
Yepp! It was Sirius' bike, but Hagrid took it after Sirius was sent to Azkaban. Hagrid was flying the same bike in the very starting of book 1, Ask your wife to read the first chapter of Harry Potter and Sorcerer's stone.
The book is the better than all her previous books. Its great how she explain why snape and aunt petunia hates Harry.
Well its wrong to say that either Snape or Petunia hates/hated harry.. Snape himself admitted that he always cared about the boy. Petunia on the other hand hated the magic, not Harry or Lily particularly.
Bought it on the Saturday when it came out and finished it Sunday evening. I don't think she's a great writer from a literary viewpoint but it IS a rattling good yarn. I also know that others have criticised the ending, I thought it was pretty good and leaves NO room for an 8th book.
hummm.. may be yes, you're right. My bad.. But I guessed it right before the book release.. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=1089296&postcount=39
I don't think its a children's book.. I've read the first book when I was a teen ager, the first book was a bit childish, the second one too.. but from third book onwards it started to turn into an emotional battle and complex relationships. I don't think Children would find book 5,6 and 7 easy to understand. Two things people say about this being childish are 1) Magic isn't real (heck neither super AI human killing machines are) 2) There is no explicit sexual content (ummm--errr..ugggghhh)
I just finished the book today. I had to read it online, since I couldn't get myself a copy of it. This was probably the best book/series I'll ever read. I love how everything ties together in the end, even a few small occurrences that happened way back in the previous books. Rowling does a really good job of explaining everything. I'm just sad that there won't be any more HP books now.
