I know for every war, there was a reason, but the reasons for the iraq and afganistan war were made unclear from the start. Was 9/11 the start of war?

If someone attacks you, you should defend youself and attack them back. But you should attack the right perpetrator. I our case we attacked Iraq which had nothing to do with the attack carried out against us.

Saddam wasn't behind 9/11 and there is no doubt about, still attack on his regime was a good thing for Iraqis and rest world minus terrorist and their supporter.

Saddam was a dictator, he killed more people than US managed to kill terrorists.
He was trying to raise money for his ambitions of gaining control over middle east once again. Saddam was a major threat for that area, and he was supporting terrorists.
