    Hey,
I am trying to egt all my wallpapers indexed on google images.
Now i tried to see which of my wallpapers have been indexed so far,and it seems like only the wallpaperpages that have been linked straight from the homepage have been indexed by google images.
Am i wrong on this and will it just take longer for page like http://members.home.nl/yourdesktop/3d2.htm to get indexed on google images or will it really only find wallpapers for pages that have been linked straight from my homepage?

    Gretel,

Google bot follows your link structure, so its important that your web page defines "Link Structure". One of the reason sitemap helps is it defines your link structure and tell google bot where to look.

So i suggest you link everything from your main page. Maybe recently added items etc would do. Upload sitemap if you didnt do it yet

You should get links specifically to the pages that aren't getting indexed. The easiest way to do that is to have links from the homepage to all deep pages, but that's hardly realistic as you also should not have over (roughly) 100 links on a page.
If you're into buying links, buy links to the deeper pages, instead of to the homepage. The same with directory submissions.

It's pretty pointless having them indexed with File Names like centerhurt10wu4.th.jpg

That's what the article explains, they will only really get found via an image search for your domain so they may as well not be indexed.

Also, as i said Google image bot is very slow, it can take 12 months to get all your images fully indexed... and not having them optimized like the article says doesn't help things.

Well, they will show up higher in the image serps if you name them well. But if you already named them with numbers and things, at least give them proper descriptive alt-text and description.

Getting it all indexed is just the first step. The next one is to have them found for queries that are relevant and preferably searched often.

Promiting images can be done with Stumbleupon as well, have you tried that? (don't overdo it, just stumbleupon photoblog a few of your favorites - especially beautiful, interesting or funny ones).

    groetjes uit Nederland.

The images with 1.jpg and 2.jpg as a name ,rank very well on google images.
I have my own method,on getting them high on google images, but the only problem i am having that google seems to not want to find the rest of the images.
But maybe it just takes longer....

No they don't at all, whatever give you that idea?

You have an image named 1.jpg and it doesn't even rank in the top 100 for an image search of 1.jpg

There's a big difference between getting an image indexed in Google images, and actually getting it ranking page one for phrases actually related to the image.

The way you have your images optimized (if you could call it that) will never be a success in Google Image search in their current state.

    Dude

    Search for
    Jennifer Aniston Wallpapers
    Pamela Anderson Wallpapers
    High Resolution Wallpapers

And so on ,and so on.

Because you read a basic aricle with standart factors don't mean what i am saying isn't true, ask for results before critisizing.

Right, so you show up for a couple of searches with around 3,000 results. I show up for results 52,000,000 plus, and yes the article is basic... i didn't read it i wrote it. The article itself even ranks top #3 for most searches on "optimizing for Google images" and similar.

You come here asking for advice because you don't know why your images arn't being indexed but now your an expert?

You were given sound advice, if you think your doing great just ignore everything that will assist and good luck with your set-up.

My problem was that my OTHER images were not getting indexed, all the image traffic together is getting me thousand and thousands of unique visitors a day,so maybe i am a expert yes,but my other images are not beeing indexed.
I am on page 1 for 400+ images for your knowledge.
So my question (again) was that my other images were not getting indexed, and you keep hammering as if my question was "i am not getting high positions for my images",so if i need to repeat myself a gazilion times before you understand, then yes i think you are the one that misunderstood.
