Is there a possibility to downgrade from WordPress version 2.2.1 to version 2.1.x? I think the latest version of 2.2.x is crappy, despite the inclusion of widgets and stuffs.
but i really dont understnad what you dont like about the new WP...widgets..but does that make posting too hard? I think you can uninstall and then reinstall..by downloading the old script..maybe its still there on some sites...
i think this latest version is not that bad. what are problems you are facing!!! may be there is no way to downgrade but to have it reinstalled!!! or just try replacing the files!!!!
If you have Fantastico it may install you the old version. I installed my WP blog using Fantastico and it installed the 2.1.2 one! Grrrr
Why not just save your sql and theme, then delete your current files and reinstall the version you want to use..
The problem is that, the preview is missing (although I can still use a plugin, but I would prefer not to). Secondly, the last time which I upgraded the WordPress, it caused one particular problem, i.e. the file upload is gone. So, I can't upload file directly. (I have tried re-installing the WordPress files, but to no avail). Finally, I can't simply install the previous version, because the database for 2.2.x and 2.1.x are different. (I presume they are)
Because they might have made some database changes between the two versions. This is actually the only obstacle you might face. If no DB changes were made between the two versions, you have no problem.
