Hi all, I am realy needing help for an seo contest that I started with someone who realy knows what he is doing and I really am not that good...yet. I could realy use some help. The search term is Alyssa Ashworth - my daughters name. The site I have created for this is www.Alyssa-Ashworth.com. Any and all help will be appreciated. I had him for the last two weeks however he just over took me this afternoon, with this site - alyssaashworth.top-site-list..com The contest is going until September 1st 2007. First of all, How did that site get ahead of mine? I am pointing links from linkexchangeexperts.com to it. I have optimized the site content for the term. I have added multiple pages.... What else should I do. I will do anything...at any cost!!!...ok... almost any cost. Help!!!! Mark

I do agree its to see how well I do. However i believe that asking for help and hints on boards are part of researching. If someone gives me a valuable tip here, wouldnt it be the same as looking it up in other places? I agree with the backlinks and anchor text comment full bore. Write some articles about, Alyssa her hobbies & interests, put these on to the article directory sites. Ensure you use unique content for each article & Put Alyssa ashworth in to the anchor text in the author resouse box. First of all - make good site. What's that pictures in size 3072 x 2304 pixels are displayed at 178 x 130 px... lol . More content for the begining - is the key for you.
Excellent! I will add more content. Should I add more content to each page or add more pages?---I am assuming both... I made it displayed at 178 X130 because each time I add a new page I copy the old one and change the displayed size to help ward off duplicate content. Should I leave out the displayed size? You should write a press release anouncing the competition and release it to every news outlet you can find. This would help.
You are on #1 & #2 with two pages in Google for me (main page and inner page). Anyway, i would suggest you raise the % of the keywords in your H1 title tag, use something like <h1>Alyssa Ashworth</h1><span>Is having a birthday</span>, the second thing i would suggest is in the footer, instead of "Copyright © 2007 http://www.Alyssa-Ashworth.com All rights reserved." use hyperlink to homepage with anchor text i.e. Copyright © 2007 Alyssa Ashworth All rights reserved. Once done that, you will have to concentrate on inbound links. You can start to submit your link on directories and be lucky if they approve the link within 15-17 august, or you can also try some more link exchange websites like linkmarket.net etc. Article submissions might take awhile to get approved and published, try to ask some link exchange from someone here, or if you can afford to spend some pennies you can buy some links from teen sites
For the inbound links you could ask other sites that are ranking for the term if they will place a link to your site, say something like you are in a competition to see how many people with the same name you can get to link with your daughters site. I did a search for Alyssa Ashworth on G and found there are over 40 000 pages with the phrase so you should be able to find some relevant links there, do not forget to use Alyssa Ashworth in the anchor text.
Question, www.Alyssa-Ashworth.com has the keyword "Alyssa Ashworth" in it. Why would extracting the keyword in the anchor text help? Any Penny sites that you would recomend? BTW, Thanks for the excellent advice!
