If you have a basic image hosting site, like imageshack, can you put adsense on the main page of your website? Or will your site be classed as having very little or no content? If so,what if you put google referral ads on your image hosting site?

You need to at least have some content.
But you may place Google Ads on the front page of an Image Hosting Site.

If Imageshack were to integrate Google ads on their fornt page, it would perfectly be legit.

This perfectly OK. But I do have some suggestions.

    1. Why don't add some more description? You could give a sample image, a sample usage scenario and why you need to protect images. This has two advantages. (a) you get more targetted ads (b) you will rank better.

i agree with others, you need to add some description so that the ads are atleast related to photos..

adding title and a little description helps...

Instead of adsense, i think you may have better luck with Pop Up or Layer ads :)

I would like to point out on the pages that you do actually show the watermarked images....

You are breaking the adsense terms and agreements. You can have 3 ad areas on a page, not 4.

Also some advice, I would never use this service because it looks like it is a picture FROM that website to the outside visitor. I would change that if I were you.

I see a lot of image hosting sites these days running AdSense.
So it's seems to be OK for Google.
Just make sure you write some content so your ads are more targeted ;)

    Good luck!

You can also add "Picasa" or "Google pack" referral unit on your site

works fine with image hosting sites ;)

having it on just the main page seems kind of stupid as most of the ads on there are of other imagehost sites.
