Hello Friends, I am thinking to invest 5-10K in directory network of 25 directories. I will start it from scratch and hope to have Min PR5 till next update. I expect a profit of 2-3K monthly from these after 3 or 4 months. That makes sense? Thank you in advance. ~Freelance GD
No it does not make sense and the market has no place for 25 directories in a network Build 1 Directory and do it properly and take a minimum of 12 months to establish One transparently and professionally and expect to be out of pocket 20,000USD getting established Leave the experts like Malcolm to Network Directories
well if ya 1. buy the domains 2. pay for the hosting on different ips and c classes 3. template 4. Add mods blah blah blah thier went a few thousand easy and youve got a shell so far and not much of anything else though im sure someone will tell you that they can make your directory network for free or minimul cost... The fact is it takes time to accomplish a successful network as well many factors including backlinks and time.. and LUCK never hurts regardless wish ya luck thx malcolm
Well I am not shocked if you want to provide a quality Directory Service and at the same time generate real revenue not nickles and dimes, then expect to spend that minimum If you cut corners in any business do not expect the business to succeed
I agree 5 - 10k is no where near enough to develope 25 QUALITY directories. You should however be able to establish ONE high quality directory with proper advertising and management.
1 Directory. 5 K. Sounds ok now? I have seen a lot of directories spending 2-3 K and getting PR6 and then they sell them on high prices like 20K, 30K. I wont be selling my directory but what would be the revenue?
No one can tell you what your revenue would be, way to many factors involved. It all depends on how you market and develop your website.

Tell me if you are sucessfull following ur original Idea. That is good start though.. That you are willing to spend HUH! One question to the expert directory owners here. How much do you usually spend on link building, to get PR6? If you want to build the PR purely on bought links..
If you know a lot about running directories, it could be possible. But if you are very new, it doesn't make sense You probably are thinking running a directory is easy. But it's not too difficult to learn and figure things out especially if you take time to read good threads in this forum.
5-10K investment, i hope you won't become a loser in the end. i invest more than 500 bulks in many well known directories, but still got nothing in return!
25 directories is just too much. start with 5 and see where you are at in the next three months. Also, where did you see pr6 directories selling for 20k-30k? most of them top out at like 10k
