Lemme ask something. You have also put up Google ads on the landing page. May I know what kind of ads are being served up? Like How much are you getting per click. Since your primary traffic is driven through PPC campaign, I want to know what kind of ads google serves you? Thanks. And like it was mentioned earlier, it takes a lot of staying power to be sucessfull in converting PPC traffic into affiliate income...
Excellent thread, thanks! My 2c: it's very much possible; in UK finance programs one can achieve 100k+ in income. And I do not mean comissions, I mean pure income. it's very competitive niche, but for a reason: it's profitable. I've done that, I know quite a few people that are doing it right now - strictly from PPC (Google and MSN mostly), but not from Content network. Will try your approach and see if it works in UK. Anyway, good luck!
Rob, Fairfax, VA here All of this is very interesting, I came across this post while on my search for information on getting started in affilate marketing. I have yet to setup a serious campaign, as I am still researching, I do appreciate you showing that it is possible to make money.
I do not think he is going to answer that lol I first looked at that and said man someone has to bust him well I guess it just happened
Hey all, I still don't have real internet access since the move. Right now I'm picking up some weak signal off a neighbors wireless router. I should get my cable modem today, so I'll be able to get back to your questions faster. I'm also working off my new laptop (it has some long range wireless thing), but is a pain without a real keyboard. My main computer doesn't pick up any signal. Anyways... Yes, 3 clicks. I'll admit, I was very lucky and excited to convert the first day. That's why I made that first post with screenshots. I totally didn't expect it to continue to convert at that rate. However, this campaign continues to do well, and I'm posting my progress and lessons learned as I go. Google is serving ads from other mortgage companies. Just visit my website and see for yourself. The landing page is getting virtually the same ads. Google doesn't allow sharing earnings per click, but I can tell you it's a fraction of what you see in those "high paying keyword" lists. That would be cool, we should follow this idea in the "general chat" area. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=3889588#post3889588 I just moved to Alexandria off Franconia. This is a pm I got the other day. Sorry it took so long to post this. Lendingtree does not allow you to link directly to their page, the visitor must land on your website first. They also have keyword restrictions. Once you join cj.com, you can check out their affiliate agreement which details all this. So you can use any page as long as it meets their requirements. They do manually review your site(s) before accepting you as an affiliate. My sister got declined (i'll follow up on her progress later), I suppose because she is brand new and has no track record. I get paid from cj.com once per month, about 3 weeks after the previous month closes out. I've only been promoting lendingtree a short time, so I can't say if they charge back leads or not. But I did get paid for last month. There are many affiliates that pay for leads in cj.com and other places. My sister joined lowermybills.com and got accepted, so you can try them if your new. They don't pay as well, but my sister is still profitable. Generally, the higher the qualified lead, the higher the pay. Lendingtree requires ssn, so they pay $55/refinance lead. Lowermybills.com doesn't require ssn, so the pay $25/refinance lead. Lendingarea.com It's not easy, and I can empathize since I'm helping my sister now who is also new. Even giving her everything, setting it up, and managing it, she still has a huge learning curve and a ton of good questions. I'll post them here when I get real internet access or a real keyboard (I'm working off this fn laptop right now on a neighbors weak wireless signal that keeps dropping). Frontpage is fine to use to build sites. I used to use it years ago. I now use dreamweaver, and I believe xsitepro comes highly recommended for marketing and is very easy to use ( I dont' have personal experience). Wordpress is pretty awesome, but I don't use it at all for ppc. I like creating single landing pages. I make a living online and do the occassional website for a friend/family. I been self employed about 13 years now. I started making good money online about 3 or 4 years ago. I just put adsense on my site when it makes sense. I'm not familiar with the 10% rule you're asking about. I wouldn't build a site with just adsense on it and drive ppc traffic to it. It's not a business model that google supports anymore and you could lose your account. Those were very good questions. They got me thinking and I hope it helped others too. Well, my fingers fn hurt using this tiny keyboard, so I'm gonna take a break. Hopefully the signal is still up when I get back.
Just an off-topic question if you don't mind. Why did you buy the laptop if the keyboard is so uncomfortable?
I didn't expect my fingers to get tired so quickly, and since I don't have internet installed at my apartment yet, the laptop is only computer I have that can pick up a signal off my neighbors wireless router. Today I bought a logitech Altos, full keyboard docking station, I'm so happy now. I also bought a hawking high gain antenna for my desktop so it is now picking up the signal too. Today, Fedex delivered the cables for the cable modem, but no cable modem! Now I gotta call cox and see wassup. Probably have to go back and buy a cable modem myself.
Adwords: -$145.06 Yahoo: -$29.85 Adsense: +$21.94 Affiliate: +$600.00 One Day Net Profit: $447.03 So you went from below $50 a day to over $400 a day in just over a month on one campaign?
People need to understand that Rob is experienced in this industry. You should not be surprised by the numbers. There are many people out there who invest $10K/day in their campaigns. So, just looking at numbers will do nothing. We should look at how he got about pushing those numbers.
Not exactly. I'm averaging over $110/day net profit right now (excluding Saturdays). That $447 day was a good day.
I think if only advertising was free =) Have you tried any other advertising companies? Like Kontrea, adbrite etc?
Make one sale out of only 3 clicks, you must have a killing website or doorway page. Is your conversion rate always 1/3 or just occasionally? Normally, even 1/30 conversion rate will be consider a good one. It is just amazing you raise the bar by 10 times. congratulation!
