I've been using avast (not advast) and it picks up better than Norton, and it's free. I learned about it when buying new machine, wanted to pay for new norton but the guys suggeted it and instaled. maybe because I got latest computer with few extras. Ever since I instaled avast several times on friends' pcs or linux, it's really great: http://www.avast.com/

AVG is better than anything else. If you want to pay, go for Kaspersky.

Norton thinks that PC is built ONLY for the AntiVirus/Internet Security or SystemWorks. Eats up ALL memory your system has.

If you're on 128 MB, 100 MB is gone!

and if you're on 1024 MB
850+ MB is still used by Norton.
