I was in the Buy,Sell Trade, forum here.

    I ran across this post

"Need to borrow $15 via paypal now, will pay back "

I thought, this is the craziest post I've seen yet.

    Would you trust it.

Yes, I would if it was an established member with good reputation and unblemished iTrader. I have done in the past and will do in the future.

I would also loan to them if they are long established members. I could always hit the refund button.

Nope, definitely not. If someone who does not have $15 on their credit card to fund the paypal purchase, what is the likelihood that he has the ability to return your money.

Besides, most asking for such as kids or people out to do a little scam.

It's not always so straight-forward, what if they can't use their credit cards for some reason, etc.

It depends on the forum member.

I wouldn't loan to anyone because of their rep or itrader alone. I would based on any past transactions I may have had with the member & the member's posts.

Yes, people. But on a forum everybody can be anybody.

I wold borrow up to $50 to an old and active forum member; I wouldn't do the same for a member who has full greens and 5000 posts, but only joined 4 months ago.
It's pretty easy to make greens here and much easier to make posts.

On another forum, somebody said that "Internet people are the worst people". You can guess why. And somebody who borrows $15 in a forum is "internet people" :D

I would only loan money to someone here if they were someone I have dealt with before successfully or heard that they are trustworthy from other trusted members :)

I've loaned money a few times here on DP. Usually getting a great intrest rate back.
Of course only to trusted members, but then again, I loaned $125 to Jerlene and was promised $175 back by yesterday and didn't get the money :/.
But hey, each to their own :)

The less people that give out loans means us few who do can charge high intrest rates :D

Jerlene is an old and trusted member. Although I never had a money deal with him, but I think he is trustworthy.

Some of us don't loan to try and cash in by charging exorbitant interest rates - we do it to help others in need in case one day the boot's on the other foot. I've never once asked for interest and I always feel hugely embarassed when someone repays me a couple of dollars extra.
    Perhaps you should consider that.

I'm not here to make friends , unlike you apparently.
    I'm here to do business.
If nobody else can step up to the business, I will. Think about it that way.

I never have, and never would in my entire life ask for a personal loan from anybody.

    Exactly.
